Arina Tanemura (種村 有菜, Tanemura Arina?) (March 12, 1978) is a mangaka who does mainly shōjo manga. She debuted with I-O-N. To date, her works are published in the manga magazine Ribon and are distributed in several countries. Tanemura Arina is also her real name.
Her most popular manga are Kamikaze Kaitō Jeanne and Full Moon wo Sagashite ("Searching for the Full Moon"), both of which were adapted into TV anime. One of her lesser works,
Time Stranger Kyoko, was also made into a 15-minute mail-order OVA anime.
Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne was recently licensed for translation and publication in the U.S. by CMX, the manga imprint of DC Comics. Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne began publication in October 2005, with the final volume released on January 24, 2007. Both the anime and manga of
Full Moon o Sagashite have been released by VIZ Media as Full Moon.
Tanemura's current manga is The
Gentlemen's Alliance (known in Japan as
Shinshi Doumei Cross) which began serialization in the September 2004 issue of Ribon. VIZ Media recently licensed The Gentlemen's Alliance and began issuing it on March 6, 2007.
