what program do you use? if photoshop.
select the part of the pic you want pixalated with the rectangle marque tool
and go to the top select>pixal>mosaic:)
and the person sharpened it so it looks more noticable
the second part...how i do it is place the c4d on the person
and erase the partsxD
or use the blending options...

the background is good but try to overlay
some textures on the picture? so it won't
look a bit plain. try to blend the text too.

that can be achieved by moving the text below the textures and other colour settings you used.
also don't use fonts that either stand out too much or too little.
As for the font style, if you are going to apply stroke, choose colours that are well suited for the gfx,
probably the same colours ( in a form of a gradient ) then center it with white to stick out.
its really up to you. (:
