Summary
Co-scripting with Kishu Izuchi, director Takahisa Zeze based this film on a 1970s Japanese teen cult which led schools to prevent students from holding supernatural rituals. This teen interest in spiritualism still surfaces decades later on some radio programs. As dramatized by Takahisa Zeze, three schoolgirls, Mio (Ayumi Yamatsu), Hiroko (Hiroko Shimada), and Masami (Moe Ishikawa) listen to a teen DJ on the nightly "Bluebird" radio show which conjures up the spirit Kokkuri in seances.
When Kokkuri foresees death for one of the three by the age of 17, it creates tensions among the impressionable trio, pitting the girls against each other and setting in motion a series of alarming events. Shown at the 1997 Venice Film Festival
"Very good pre Ring ghost film with some good atmosphere. Would also make for a good pairing with Memento Mori. I found the main actress, Ayumi Yamatsu to be cute."
"I think of Kokkuri as a companion piece to Moon Child. Both use genre conventions(ghost, vampire) as a symbolic metaphor. Both end on a similar tragic note in similar setting(in a very different way from each other)."

Thanks mitsukosouma! You're the best! Now I need to find the film you put the synopsis up for. I wonder if it's a sequel? (It sounds better than this one *embarrassed*)
I'm not one for leaving ngative comments, generally speaking, but this movie was just- retarded.
AS always, however, thanks to the uploaders and the sub team!
