plot of EYESHIELD 21
The plot of Eyeshield 21 revolves around a physically unassuming and non-assertive boy named Sena Kobayakawa who enters the high school of his choice, Deimon Private Senior High School , where his childhood friend Mamori Anezaki , one year older than Sena, already attends. His only remarkable physical abilities are his running speed, dodging techniques, and intense agility (perfect for football), the result of a school life spent complying with the demands of bullies, quickly catch the eye of the high school's American football team captain Yoichi Hiruma who then forces Sena to join the team (Deimon Devil Bats) as the running back.
To protect his identity (on the premise that other school sports teams will try to recruit Sena upon discovering his athletic skill) Sena is forced to publicly assume the role of team secretary, and enter the field wearing a helmet equipped with a green-tinted eyeshield in order to hide his features under the name of "Eyeshield 21." The makeshift team initially takes part in the Spring football tournament (at the beginning of the Japanese school year) hoping to win with through the strength of their new "secret weapon." But the extremely weak team is eliminated early on by the Ojo White Knights, a powerhouse football team. Others see the skill of the current White Knights as having declined from the previous "Golden Generation" but the team members are trying to prove that they have the ability to surpass their predecessors. It is in this game that Sena meets the man he will acknowledge as his ultimate rival, Seijuro Shin, a talented linebacker.
After Deimon's defeat, the Spring tournament is revealed as a secondary in importance to the Fall tournament, where the teams compete for the chance to play in the "Christmas Bowl", the high school football league championship. Hiruma, Kurita and Sena regroup and slowly build a real team from other misfits and students looking to define themselves, with the goal of reaching the championship. The series follows the building and growth of the Deimon Devil Bats and its members, as well as various rival teams encountered through their games and tournaments, as they all strive to achieve their goal of playing in the Christmas Bowl.
Deimon Devil Bats (泥門デビルバッツ, Deimon Devil Bats?) is the home team of the anime and manga series Eyeshield 21. This team represents the Deimon Private Senior High School (私立泥門高等学校, Shiritsu Deimon Kōtōgakkō?). The high-school incarnation of middle-school club the Mao Devil Bats, the Deimon American Football Club started out with only three members: Yoichi Hiruma, Ryokan Kurita, and Gen "Musashi" Takekura. After its inaugural year, its membership was further reduced with the departure of Gen Takekura. This remained the case until Hiruma found Sena Kobayakawa and his amazing running ability.
The team's chant is "We Will Kill'em! YA-HA!" (ブッツブス!YA-HA!!, Buttsubusu! YA-HA!!?) in the anime and "Bukkorosu! YA-HA!!" (ブッコロス!YA-HA!!, "Bukkorosu! YA-HA!!"?) in the manga.
Team information
Logo/Mascot
Red Devil Bat, a nonexistent creature which bears a striking resemblance to Hiruma Yoichi.
Team colours
Primarily red, white and black. The pants of the uniform are shown in the ES21 video games to be a very light shade of beige.
Helmet
Black, white face mask, and red bat-wings (with a white outline) along each side, in the style of the Philadelphia Eagles or Birmingham Fire.
Team uniform
For the most part, the Deimon uniform is the most straightforward in the series - no flash designs on the jersey at all. Later on, however, the uniform takes on a fancier look: the numbers' colors are reversed from white with a black outline to black with a white outline, and the jerseys have black streaks down the front and back, starting either side of the numbers on the players' shoulders. On the front of the jersey, these streaks continue down onto the pants - on the back, they resemble bat's wings.
The 'road' white jerseys have the same black stripes, but the area between these down each side of the jersey is still red.
Play style
This team is opposite to that of Ojo and their philosophy about ultimate defense. Deimon is based on extreme offense (Deimon is also said to be the team with the best offense in Kanto), partly due to the fact that it initially lacked a kicker and also based on the ideals of its captain Hiruma: "If they score 99 points, we'll win with 100!." Even when on defense, the Devil Bats heavily rely on interceptions, fumbles, safeties and any other way to add more points. High-risk plays are the main staple of their strategies, since they always give 100% effort, regardless of the odds being stacked against them.

The main character of Eyeshield 21. Initially a bullied gopher, his speed was discovered by Hiruma as he was literally forced into joining the football team at Deimon. However, he soon grows to love the game he plays as he masters both the Speed of Light Pace and further techniques as he gains the confidence to become a successful player. At different times throughout the anime and the manga, he will often, through emotions, tap into the Speed of Light Pace, but the problem with this is, every time he does that, he will often overextend himself, causing himself to faint. As time went on, he got to the point where he can run the Speed of Light Pace at will. After the Death March he develops the "Devil Bat Ghost" where he learns to cut without stopping, the "Devil Bat Hurricane" where he incorporates a spin to the "Devil Bat Ghost" and the "Devil Stungun" where he uses one arm to block.
Yoichi Hiruma
* Position: Quarterback/Strong Safety/Punter
* Jersey: 1
* 40 yard dash: 5.1 seconds
* Bench Press: 75 kg
* Height: 176 cm (5' 9")
* Weight: 67 kg (147 lb)
* Graduated From: Mao 13th Middle School
* 2nd Year Student (Grade 11)
The twisted quarterback and captain of the Devil Bats, who is deeper than his demonic face may appear. He even carries multiple amount of guns and a homicidal dog named Cerberus. Though he acts cruel and a little crazy, he really does care about his teammates and friends. He is clever and calculating, and can always come up with a maverick of a plan to pull the team out of dire straits. Along with Kurita and Musashi, he is the one of the founders of the Devil Bats. His skill as a quarterback are highly recognized, even by Shin, including passes with incredibly high RPMs as well as executing extremely convincing play action fakes. His specialty off the field is a combination of blackmail and mind games along with superior intellect which has effectively allowed him to take control of all of Deimon High. He's also shown prowess in counting cards allowing him to earn enough through gambling to pay off Doburoku's debt.
Ryokan Kurita
Birthday: 7/7
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 77
Position: Center/Defensive Tackle
40 Yard Dash: 6.5 sec
Bench Press: 160 kg
Kurita Ryoukan, you could say he’s the gentle giant of the Devil bats. Although Ryoukan is the strongest linemen and a giant, he is actually friendly and polite. Whenever Sena would feel down, Ryoukan would be there to help cheer him up. During a game, Ryoukan would utter the sound "Funnuraba," this is a special grunt that he makes when he blocks his opponents. The grunt has no particular meaning in Japanese. In the beginning, it was just Ryoukan and Youichi in the American Football club, that was only until Sena had showed up. Both Kurita Ryoukan and Anezaki Mamori have something in common, they love their sweets.
Taro Raimon, a.k.a Monta
Raimon Tarou
Birthday: 8/31
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 80
Position: Wide Receiver/Cornerback
40 Yard Dash: 5.0 sec
Bench Press: 50 kg
Raimon Tarou has a dream of becoming a catching hero like Honjou Masaru, the catching expert of the Shuei Bears. Ever since when Tarou was given a baseball glove by Honjou, Tarou always wanted to be just like him. But when the Deimon baseball team had only signed Tarou up for the third team, which was below the second team, he was starting to doubt himself. The third team was said to be reserves for reserves, players that weren't even considered as baseball team members. The baseball team was looking for players with general abilities in offense and defense, Tarou was only skilled at catching, but his batting and throwing was pretty much pathetic. Tarou was asked to join the American Football team by Sena but he declined the offer. After when Tarou realized that he was unable to follow his current dream, he decided that he should join the American Football team and become a catching hero. Since American Football was better to have players who were good at just one thing, Raimon Tarou was perfect for it
Juumonji Kazuki
Birthday: 10/1
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 51
Position: Tackle/Defensive Tackle
40 Yard Dash: 5.5 sec
Bench Press: 85 kg
Juumonji Kazuki is the head of the Ha Ha Kyoudai, which consists of Kuroki Kouji, Toganou Shouzou, and himself. Kazuki was first introduced to us as bullies of Sena's high school life. On Sena's first day, he was already forced by the Ha Ha Kyoudai to buy them bread. He had failed his errand because the bread at the shop was all sold out, which led to Sena being chased by them. This chase was also what led to Youichi spotting Sena's fast legs. Although in the beginning, Kazuki and the Ha Ha Kyoudai were just bullies, they ended up joining the Devil bats as defensive linemen. He is referred to as one of the Huh-Huh Brothers by Hiruma although not really related.
Kuroki Kouji
Birthday: 9/2
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 52
Position: Guard/Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 5.1 sec
Bench Press: 85 kg
Another member of the Ha Ha Kyoudai is Kuroki Kouji. There's not much to say about Kouji, just that he has brown hair that grows up to this shoulders. Later in the series, Kouji joins the Devil bats as defensive linemen. He is also referred to as one of the Huh-Huh Brothers by Hiruma although not really related.
Toganou Shouzou
Birthday: 10/13
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 53
Position: Tackle/Defensive End
40 Yard Dash: 5.5 sec
Bench Press: 85 kg
Toganou Shouzou is another member of the Ha Ha Kyoudai, and is quite the wackiest one out of the three in my opinion. He has yellow hair similar to Goku from Dragon Ball Z, but with less spikes, and has orange circular goggles which give him an even more weirder look. There's not much information about Shouzou, but he also joins the Devil bats as defensive linemen later on in the series. Concluding the so called Huh-Huh Brothers is Shouzou.
Komusubi Daikichi
Birthday: 1/1
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 16
Position: Guard/Defensive End
40 Yard Dash: 5.2 sec
Bench Press: 110 kg
Daikichi wants to become Kurita's apprentice. It is assumed that all the viewers are powerful and therefore need no words to understand that of Daikichi.
Ishimaru Tetsuo
Birthday: 5/26
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 30
Position: Running Back/Cornerback
40 Yard Dash: 4.9 sec
Bench Press: ?
In the beginning of the series, the Deimon Devil bats were recruiting players for their first game. From the track team, Ishimaru Tetsuo was asked to play, but he was unable to attend due to his part-time job delivering the town's magazines. But Sena was willing to do anything to get Tetsuo to play, and because of this, Sena ended up helping Tetsuo distributing half of the town's magazines. Thanks to Sena's hard work, Tetsuo was able to play in the first game. And after that, Tetsuo just sort of kept on playing with the team in each of the football games.
Yukimitsu Manabu
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Jersey #: 16
Position: Unknown
40 Yard Dash: 5.6 sec
Bench Press: ?
Manabu has been attending cram school since the first grade. His parents had forbid him to be in any sort of extra-curricular activity. One day, when he saw the game between the Devil Bats and the Zokugaku, he felt a burning desire in his heart to join the team. Although he is short and weak, when he saw Eyeshield 21 who was alike, was willing to stand up to all sorts of difficulties without being afraid, Manabu wanted to be just like him.
Taki Natsuhiko
Birthday: 4/10
Year: 1st / Gr. 10
Jersey #: 37
Position: Tight End/Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 5.1 sec
Bench Press: 90 kg
Taki is Deimon's Tight End. He always makes weird poses and thinks of him as an all-around super football player. He went to America to play American football and tried out for a NFL team. That's where Sena met him the first time. After failing the try out, Sena offered him to play for the Deimon Devil Bats back in Japan. Taki has a lot of potential and talent but his dumbness is always in his way. He finished the Death March with the team and became a high school student at Deimon High. Now he was finally able to play football. He is a great addition to the team and very useful. His sister Suzuna is always with him.
Gen "Musashi" Takekura
Birthday: 4/2
Year: 2nd / Gr.11
Jersey #: 11
Position: Kicker/Linebacker
40 Yard Dash: 5.6
Bench Press: 90 kg
The place kicker for the Devil Bats and one of the original three members of the team, along with Hiruma and Kurita. He is often mistaken for an older person, since he initially has a bit of stubble and has a buzz-cut. When he finally joins the team, he grows out his hair and shaves. He leaves the team during the spring season of his freshman year, due to the fact that his father had become seriously ill. As a result, he was forced to drop out of school and take over as the construction foreman of Deimon High. Though he desperately wants to get back into playing, he refused to rejoin the Devil Bats. However, after meeting with Sena and Monta and seeing how determined they are to get him back on the team, he agrees, but only if they become a strong team. In the manga, he makes his comeback during the game against Seibu, when his father hit him for abandoning his team. In the anime, he does not rejoin the team until the game with the Bando Spiders. He has a running rivalry with the kicker of the Spiders, Kōtarō Sasaki, who according to Hiruma, has NEVER missed.
Manager:Anezaki Mamori
Birthday: 11/24
Year: 2nd / Gr. 11
Position: American Football Club Manager
40 Yard Dash: ?
Bench Press: 20 kg
Ever since Sena was a little kid, there was a person who protected him like a little brother, that person is Anezaki Mamori. It is not clear on how Mamori and Sena came to be, but Mamori was always there to protect Sena. Even in high school, she was still sticking up for him. When Sena joined the American Football Club, Mamori feared that it would be too dangerous for him. Knowing that Youichi was in charge of the club, gave Mamori an even greater will to protect Sena. But in order for her to be there by Sena's side, Mamori would have to join the club herself. This led to the new manager of the Devil bats
Cheerleader:
Taki Suzuna
Position: Cheerleading Captain
Year: 1st / Gr.10
Suzuna is a cute blue-haired girl who's always wearing rollerblades. She came to the United States and hitched a ride with one of the bikers of a bike gang. Sena first met her after he got lost halfway through the Death March and was surrounded by a whole lot of American bikers - Sena being Sena, he couldn't really communicate with them. However, one biker mentioned the words 'Japanese girl', 'Football player', and 'Japan', and Sena assumed said biker was talking about Mamori, and immediately went off in search of the aforementioned Japanese girl. The 'Japanese girl' term was actually referring to Suzuna, and 'Football player' Natsuhiko, her brother. Suzuna was looking for her brother, and in that same respect, met up with the 'Football player' assuming that it was Natsuhiko. The bikers then assumed they were boyfriend and girlfriend (cheering them on with "C'mon, hug! Kiss! Hug!", but the fact was that Suzuna and Sena were not in a relationship). She eventually finds her brother and beats the living daylights out of him for taking the family savings to fly to America. She also witnesses Sena in action as Eyeshield 21.
OTHER TEAMS
Ojo White Knights
For full article see: Ojo White Knights (Eyeshield 21)
White_Knights_Logo.gif
(王城ホワイトナイツ Ōjō Howaito Naitsu)
* Mascot: Knight with lance on horse.
* Helmet logo: Blue shield with a white crucifix.
* Team colours: White and blue - akin to the Indianapolis Colts' away kit.
* Jerseys feature a lightning bolt across each shoulder - Similar to the new San Diego Chargers uniforms.
* Notes: Ojo Private Senior High School resembles the Notre Dame Cathedral to indicate that the school has a long, proud American football tradition like the University of Notre Dame in the United States. Their team's chant is "Glory on the Kingdom!" The team coach is Gunpei Shouji, a man who played football with Doburoku when they were young. A pony-tailed girl named Koharu Wakana is the team manager.
* The team is based on the old football maxim "Offense Wins Games, But Defense Wins Championships". If the opponent can be prevented from scoring, then only one point is needed to win. This is the direct opposite of the Deimon Devil Bats, in which ultimate offense is the best strategy. Hiruma: "If we can score 100 points to their 99 points (the number of points Ojo scored on their first game against Deimon), then one point is all we need to win."
* Like Zokugaku, Ojo also has a university school, whose football team are the "Silver Knights". Currently, their players consist of the legendary "Golden Generation", known as the pinnacle of the ultimate defense and who came the closest to defeating the unstoppable Shinryuji Nagas during their time (prior to Deimon doing so this football season).
Zokugaku (Zoku to Gakuen) Chameleons
(賊学カメレオンズ)
* Logo: Chameleon
* Uniform: checkered squares on the shoulders
* Team colours: Green and Blue, but different shades to Kyoshin Poseidon - closer to the former World League team Orlando Thunder.
* This team has a look-alike team at Zokugaku University. They are known as the Zokugaku Frilled Lizards, which are led by Rui's older brother.
* This entire team consists of gang members, who are not above using dirty tactics to win. The team was disqualified from the Spring tournament when some of the players beat up the referee. Like the chameleon, Zokugaku's philosophy is to adapt in order to win. They specialize in targeting an opponent's weakness in either past strategies or team members. However, they have a problem, whenever the opposing team does something that they don't expect.
* Their leader, Rui Habashira accepts a challenge from Deimon where 5 million yen goes to the victor of their match. The game against the Devil Bats ends in a 28-48 loss for them. When Deimon defeats Zokugaku, the team believes that Hiruma was joking about the money, until Hiruma busts out numerous guns and grenades strapped to his body in response to Rui's unsheathing of his butterfly knife. After all, Sena once said in response to an anecdote about Rui's constant possession of a butterfly knife, "We know someone who always carries firearms." The Chameleons are forced to become his slaves to pay off their debt to him. Otherwise, Hiruma would have disassembled their motorcycles, and sell the parts for money. They help the Hah Brothers to train and learn a new technique called "rascal killing" (sometimes known as "delinquent deathblow" or "scumbag scuffle"). In the English manga, it's called "The Juvenile Delinquent Murder Method". The team was later released from their debt when the Devil Bats went to America. Hiruma wanted them to train for the Fall Tournament.
* In the anime, the Devil Bats and Chameleons have a practice scrimmage just before the second matches of the Fall Tournament. The team from Zokugaku showed a better performance than before, but they still lost 28-30, due to the addition of Deimon's new Tight End. Afterwards, they were forced to carry their motorcycles home by their manager/trainer.
Seibu Wild Gunmans
(西部ワイルドガンマンズ)
* Team Logo/Mascot: A cactus wearing a cowboy suit
* Team colours: Brown, Gold and Dark Blue - Close match to the now defunct AFL team, Iowa Barnstormers
* Helmet logo: cross-section of a six-shooter's bullet chamber. Helmets are copper-coloured.
* The engrish name of Wild Gunmans has been corrected to "Wild Gunmen" in the Viz Comms translation.
* Like Deimon, Seibu is highly focused on offense, with passing being the major component, (though the run with Riku has been recently added).
This is one bizarre team, but the second best team in the Spring Kantou Tournament. Their coach is an old Japanese man who acts like a real cowboy, the cheerleaders are Japanese girls who wear sexy cowgirl outfits (they even wield real guns). Their captain is the lineman Buffalo Ushijima. The most active team ever seen in Eyeshield 21 manga. During spring break, they train in Houston, Texas. Once Tetsuma, Kid and their coach team up with Sena, Mamori, Monta, and Hiruma to become Devil Gunmen in a beach football tournament, as the Seibu coach didn't want the prize, a bull, to be eaten by anyone. He also wanted it for their ranch. The teams chant is "GUN&GUN that will do"
Taiyō Sphinx
(太陽スフィンクス)
* Logo: Sphinx
* Team colours: sandy yellow, turquoise-blue (closest NFL match: Jacksonville Jaguars). Team uniform is striped.
* This strong team is one of the best in the Kanagawa prefecture. Their players act like Egyptians because their headmaster, after excavating a ruin, became obsessed with the Egyptians and opened a school that looks like a pyramid. Their philosophy is based on the importance of the line and they are reputed to have the heaviest. However, their backfield is substantially less than Deimon's.
* Due to their philosophy of the importance of the line, Taiyō is considered more of a defensive team. They focus on stopping the advance of the opposing side and protecting the quarterback.
* They were originally chosen to go against the Nasa Aliens, due to the fact that just about every member of Taiyo Sphinx was massively built, in which the sponsors assumed they could take the hits from the large American players. However, thanks to Hiruma's computer hacking skills, they get involved in a match against the Devil Bats for the chance to play against the Americans.
* Their game against Deimon ends in a tie (20-20), but Banba surrenders the chance to play against the Nasa Aliens to his opponents after they had shown his team the true spirit and drive to win, despite the difference in power, size, and especially climate (the Taiyo field is an arid dustbowl). One thing to note is that all of the students look somewhat Egyptian (their skin is dark). This is explained in a small snippet: all the students are into surfing since Shonan beach is right next door, hence the tans.
Shinryūji Naga
* Logo: Dragon
* Team colours (manga): charcoal-grey or black, with two-tone gold/orange detail.
* Team colours (anime): dark purple, red and gold.
* Helmet (manga): black flames on a gold background. Coupled with the uniform, this makes for a strong resemblance to the New Orleans Saints.
* Helmet (anime): dark purple flames on a red background
* Team uniform bears flames down the side of both the jerseys and pants, and across the top of the helmet. Team dress outside of games kind of resembles a Buddhist monk's robes.
* Before the start of each game, the linemen go into a kind of meditation exercise to achieve a Zen state of mind. Supposedly, this is to get them mentally prepared for the game and nothing can disturb them when they are like this... that is, until Ikkyu commented on some cute girls.
* The strongest team in the Kanagawa area by far. Known as the "Gods of Kantou", they've won the Kantou tournament for 9 years straight. Four of the players resemble the main characters from Journey to the West (or as they call it, Saiyuki). The name Shinryūji can translate to "Temple of the Dragon God".
* The team is made up of members who are good all-rounders, with two aces, (Agon and Ikkyu). As a result, they are well-balanced in both offense and defense, which is directly opposite to Deimon's team of specialists.
* Their coach is Sendou Dasumito, an old man who looks much like a hermit martial arts master would look like in a martial arts movie. He guides the team with seeming wisdom and tactics, though he always turns a blind eye toward Agon and his lack of discipline, due to his God-Impulse Ability.
* Another fact about the team is that they had never allowed any opponent a two-point conversion against them. This record is destroyed along with their bid for a 10th Kantou Championship when they lose to the Devil Bats in the opening round in quite possibly the most unbelievable upset in their entire history.
Nasa Aliens/Nasa Shuttles
(NASAエイリアンズ / NASAシャトルズ)
* Team Mascot: Alien
* Team colours: blue and yellow (different shades to Taiyou - closer to that of the Swedish flag)
* Helmet logo: an atom with electron paths traced around it
* This is the American team that Deimon plays when they represent Japan. The best player on the team, Panther, only picks up balls and is not allowed to play because of his previous mistake in a game and not following through with the coach's instructions, although it was later found out that this was merely a rationalization.
* The Aliens first play a practice game against Zokugaku University's Frilled Lizards and slaughter them with a score of 73-0.
* There was a bet before the game with Deimon and the terms were that if a team didn't win by more than 10 points, then that team would stay in the opposite country (Japan for NASA, US for Deimon). Deimon lost by one point (32-33), but only because they lacked a kicker and Sena was too exhausted to try the Devil Bat Dive at the end. Neither team succeeded in one-upping each other by 10 points. So Deimon went to America, while NASA stayed. In actuality, this was all according to Hiruma's plans since he wanted the Devil Bats to gain more experience against a veteran team and get some training in the United States.
* The more muscular members of the Nasa Aliens have a habit of getting into a group pose and flexing their muscles, in which they believe show off their physiques to all female spectators, thereby getting them dates and such. So far, it hasn't worked.
Kyoshin Poseidon
(巨深ポセイドン)
* Logo: The Greek god of the sea holding a trident (Poseidon)
* Uniform: colour scheme similar to the Seattle Seahawks - greyish-blue and green.
* Uniform detail is of scales down the side of the uniform
* Helmet logo is a pair of fins, one on each side
* The team's Cheerleading Squad Captain, Otohime is said to have a crush on Kengo Mizumachi because of his pure (and immature) heart, and apparently joined the club because of a diet.
* The team is highly focused on using its members' height to their advantage, both in stopping passes and runs from their rivals, making them a defensive team.
* Unexpectedly, this team manage to defeat the strong Hashiratani Deer in their first match by gaining 31 points without letting Hashitarani Deer get any more points after sending out their team's secret weapons. Defeated the Zokugaku Chameleons in their second match and lost to Deimon Devil Bats by one point.
* During their match against Deimon, Oujou's Takami comments that Hiruma is Deimon's true 'hidden ace', due to his ability to make instantaneous decisions on who to pass to, as well as his tactical knowledge.
Bando Spiders
(盤戸スパイダーズ)
* Logo: Spider with a guitar
* Uniform and helmet designs feature spider's webs - black webs on a scarlet background, similar in design to the costume worn by Spider-Man.
* This is the team that the Devil Bats face after losing to the Seibu Wild Gunmen in the qualifying eliminator for the Kantou championship. Monta believed all was lost after a play that could have gone either way was called in Seibu's favour, leading him to rage at a game official. It was following the end of the game that Hiruma let slip that they had another chance - by finishing third in the tournament. The 3rd/4th place repechage game is Deimon vs Bando. Deimon won 37-36.
* The team has a philosophy of being a kick team, due to Koutarou Sasaki's kicking ability, and also because most of the original members of the Bando Spiders transferred to another school, leaving only the members of the kick formation left. This makes them take on an offensive stance like Deimon, in which one point can make all the difference.
Hakushū Dinosaurs
(白秋ダイナソーズ)
* Logo: A tyrannosaurus with stripes down its back
* Uniform: Similar to the Cincinnati Bengals, in design at least; colours are green and black. Thick slashes of a dark colour adorn the whole jersey and helmets. Two eyes peer out on the front of the helmets as well, and a row of sharp teeth are just above the facemask.
Very little has been revealed on this team until recently. In a newspaper article after the Spring tournament, they were mentioned alongside Deimon (and below tournament mainstays like Shinryuji, Oujō, Seibu and Taiyo) as a "Team to Watch", particularly due to some "massive new talent" that they had recruited. As they had made it to the final eight of the Kantō tournament, the team is slowly being revealed, possibly as a potential final opponent in the Kantou final for the Devil Bats. The team thrashed the Taiyo Sphinx in the quarterfinals by a halftime score of 32-0, and forcing the Sphinx to forfeit due to a lack of players fit to continue. In the semifinals, the team faced the Seibu Wild Gunmen and with Kid's quick draw passes they were able to take a 14-7 lead over Hakushū. Unfortunately, just when Kid had finally accepted the dream of reaching for the Christmas Bowl, Hakushū's "massive new talent" Gaou came up from behind and broke his arm. In the end they defeated Seibu 14-72 thus reaching the finals where they are currently playing the Deimon Devil Bats.
In the extra material section, it has been revealed that the Dinosaurs are a S class team, on par with the Seibu Wild Gunmens.
Misaki Wolves
(岬ウルブス)
* Logo: Wolf
* Uniforms and Helmets: The colour is currently unknown, but the shoulders and chest of the jersey bear parallel 'gashes', mimicking wolves' claws. The helmets have a wolf's head on either side.
* Very little is shown of this team. The team leader, Kamiya Taiga, is one of the players interviewed by Kumabukuro Riko shortly before the match against the Shinryuuji Naga.
* The Wolves hail from Hokkaido; their introduction at the tournament lottery says that they "make their way across the land with their fangs, claws and speed".
* This is the first team the Seibu Gunmen play against at the Kantou Tournament, though they are largely a joke; when Riku faces Gaō after the Hakushuu-Taiyou match, they loosely promise to meet at the next level, while the Wolves protest feebly in the background that they have yet to play against Seibu.
Sado Strong Golems
(茶土ストロングゴーレム)
* Logo: Golem (similar in design to Mega Man robot Stone Man)
* This team is from the Shizuoka area.
Ganjō Iwashima
(岩重ガンジョー) He is shown as a key player in the Sado Strong Golems. His position is unclear. When asked what his strong point is he said it is his rock hard body. But he is a very naive player, who ends up taking bad advice while being manhandled by Oujou in the quarterfinals. His ability to ram into his opponent with his body is impressive, but it proves to be no match against Ootowara's bulk and Shin's Trident Tackle. He is a bit of a pervert, with a love of women with big breasts and his tackling style similar to groping a female.

Equipments
Here's a short description of each piece of equipment worn by Sena:
Neck Roll: This piece is used to protect the neck from Extreme impact and also prevents hyperextension.
Shoulder Pads: These are not only used for protection but it also helps to power through tackles and make it harder to be tackled.
Gloves: The primary use of these is for gripping the ball although it makes it a little more difficult to throw the ball.
Hip Pads: These are especially important because the brunt impact of the tackle is taken in the hips most of the time.
Thigh Pads: These also take a lot of impact on a tackle so these too are very important protection.
Knee Pads: These protect your knees when you hit the ground in any way and it is very important because a serious knee injury can end your career.
Cleats: These are very important to Sena especially because they dig into the ground and give you more traction and it makes your cuts a lot more effective.
