Eclaire Farron ''Lightning"
Age:20
home:Bodum
weapon: Blazefire Saber
ediolon: Odin
bio:Lightning is one of the main characters in Final Fantasy 13.Lightning is strong and independent. Initially, she is a cold and standoffish person to others often distancing herself from her companions; which stems primarily from her irritation over her refusal to believe her sister Serah's plight, as well as becoming a l'Cie just as Serah did. Much of her motivation is fueled from what she perceives as failing to properly protect Serah and wanting to make things right, which leads her to lash out at those she believes are responsible for that and the subsequent Purge: namely, the Sanctum, its fal'Cie and, to a point, Snow Villiers, due to his relationship with Serah and his own failure to protect her as he promised. Lightning's early solution to things that annoy or upset her is to distance herself from them, either emotionally or physically. Over time, however, Lightning does begin to show compassion and trust towards others, and see the errors in her approach.
Serah Farron
age:18
home:Bodum
BIO:Serah is an 18-year-old girl with the same pink tint of hair that Lightning has. She ties her hair into a ponytail on the left side of her head, much like how Lightning's hair is draped over her left shoulder. Serah has blue eyes like her sister, although Serah's are a darker shade. She wears cat-shaped earrings representing NORA, a black armband on her right bicep like Lightning, red plaid pleated skirt lined with black lace, a white sleeveless dress shirt, a semi-transparent pink sweeper, black thigh-high stockings, ivory ankle boots, and a bandage on her left bicep, which she uses to cover her l'Cie brand. She eventually wears the engagement pendant she receives from Snow. Yoshinori Kitase describes Serah as "the cutest girl" in the game.
According to Final Fantasy XIII Episode Zero -Promise-, Serah is a straight-A student and one of her favorite subjects is history. Serah is depicted as mature and wise, deeply caring for those around her. During the Purge, both Lightning and Snow make their way into the Pulse Vestige to save Serah. When Lightning finds the unconscious Serah, Sazh attempts to kill her after learning she is a Pulse l'Cie. Serah awakes realizing that Lightning came for her. When Snow arrives, Serah takes his hand and asks if her hero has arrived and Lightning scolds him for not protecting Serah like he promised. Serah tells Lightning to save Cocoon and subsequently crystallizes, leaving behind a tear-shaped crystal for Snow.
Snow Villiers
Age:21
Home:Bodum
Weapon: Wild Bear (Coat Emblem)
Ediolon: Shiva sisters
Bio:Snow is the leader and founder of NORA, a group that originally fought off Bodhum's wildlife and eventually became a group of rebels fighting against the Sanctum. He grew up with his childhood friends, Gadot and Lebreau, in the town of Bodhum at the edge of Cocoon, where they hunted stray monsters under the moniker of NORA. Snow has a very "heroic" personality, hence his title, "The Hero." Although his heart may be in the right place and he wishes to help anyone in need, he has a tendency to talk and act before he thinks, evident by Vanille's first impression of him being "all talk," which in turn, annoys and infuriates people (notably Lightning and Hope). Acknowledging Snow's flamboyant nature, Sazh calls him "one of the kids." Lightning describes Snow as "arrogant and chummy from the get-go, thinks he's everyone's pal," and that his best quality is being "too stubborn to die."
Hope Estheim
Age:14
Home: Palumpolum
Weapon: Airwing (Boomerang)
Eidolon: Alexander
Bio:After Nora's death, Hope turns to Vanille for emotional support in response to her kindness. Even though he is continuously confused by her cheerful nature, he easily strikes up a friendship with her and accepts her attempts to comfort him. As a result, Hope also has a tendency of clinging onto her whenever he becomes scared or frantic. However, he becomes dependent on Lightning for support and guidance as she shares his hatred for Snow, and he sees her as a strong and independent person that he can learn from. Looking up to Lightning as a role model of sorts, Hope tries to follow her example as a former soldier in order to gain experience in battle and knowledge of how to survive in the world.
Due to his time under her tutelage, he matures into an efficient fighter prepared to face any opponent. He is also able to speak in a more straightforward manner and control his emotions to a certain degree. He develops a symbiotic relationship with Lightning and comes to bond with and confide in her as a surrogate mother figure and mentor as they help each other understand things about themselves. After he forgives Snow for his part in Nora's death and overcomes his grief, Hope becomes willing to throw himself into harm's way for the sake of others, give his companions words of encouragement and wisdom, as well as remain positive in otherwise negative situations, ultimately living up to his namesake.
Oerba Dia Vanille
Age:19
Home: Oerba village
Weapon: Binding Rod (Rods)
Eidolon: Hecatoncheir
Bio: At a first glance, Vanille seems to have a child-like innocence, akin to that of a younger child. Vanille also cares deeply for Fang; she constantly worries for her, and does not like being away from her. Vanille also seems tougher than she appears to be since she was able to kill a bear alone. Throughout the game, Vanille is shown to be caring, considerate, and at times, somewhat stubborn. Her caring side is first shown when she does not hesitate to comfort Hope Estheim after he loses his mother, while her stubbornness is evident when Hope questions her intelligence and whenever Sazh treats her like a little kid. She mostly appears to be happy and cheerful when, truthfully, she is afraid. She usually tries to cope with her fears by "closing her eyes and losing herself in happier days."
In Final Fantasy XIII Episode Zero -Promise-, Fang describes Vanille to be careless at times, naive, a crybaby, a scaredy-cat but also curious about everything. Her curiosity is evident by how she wants to explore her surroundings no matter what others might think. Fang also says that she laughs a lot and is kind to everyone. Vanille also tends to remain positive in situations that others would deem hopeless, and tries to see the brighter side of things. Behind her cheerfulness, Vanille hides a fair amount of maturity fitting someone her age.
Oerba Yun Fang
Age:21
Home:Oerba village
Weapon: Bladed Lance (Spear)
Eidolon:Bahamut
Bio:Fang used to be a resident of Gran Pulse, along with Vanille, from the village of Oerba. Centuries before the game's events, during the War of Transgression between Gran Pulse and Cocoon, Fang and Vanille lost their families at the hands of Cocoon's l'Cie and fal'Cie, and became close friends after meeting at Oerba's orphanage.
However, Fang developed a deep grudge against Anima, Oerba's patron fal'Cie, for failing to protect the people of Gran Pulse, and became a l'Cie to protect both Gran Pulse and Vanille; with Vanille becoming a l'Cie alongside her. Fang and Vanille held the power to become Ragnarok to fulfill the Focus of destroying Cocoon.
But as Vanille was fearful of the power bestowed to them, Fang became Ragnarok alone to protect her and complete their Focus. Fang's Ragnarok was not powerful enough, though it did crack Cocoon's shell. Taking pity on the people of Cocoon, the Goddess Etro decided to intervene in the war and crystallized both Vanille and Fang before they were able to complete their Focus. Fang and Vanille's crystallized forms then end up in the Pulse Vestige, Anima's resting place. In the war's aftermath, Cocoon's fal'Cie raided Pulse to get materials needed to fix the damage Cocoon had sustained and the crystallized Fang and Vanille end up within Cocoon.

Serah Farron enters Crystal Stasis after asking Lightning to save Cocoon. Whilst Snow intends to persuade the fal'Cie into releasing Serah, both Lightning and Sazh plan to use more aggressive methods. After confronting Anima, the fal'Cie retaliates by turning them all into l'Cie, before casting them down into the crystallized Lake Bresha.
