Game Synopsis:
In a time of both sophisticated technology and powerful magic, an evil sorceress corrupts the world's largest military power through manipulation and deception, enslaving mankind to do her bidding. Her goal is not something as simple as world domination; but to completely conquer all of space and time.
To counter the turn of events, various leaders head combat training schools, known as Gardens, that turn out elite fighting forces. Known as SeeDs, they defend, serve, and protect humankind from the sorceress. The sole purpose of these academies is to vanquish the sorceress and save humanity as we know it, although they take many other assignments for the right price.
A small, loose-knit group of SeeD graduates find themselves wrapped in a much bigger endeavor than simple military combat. Now, a gunblade specialist, together with a diverse group of young heroes, must set aside his fears, face the emotions he's run from, and become the leader that he never wanted to be.

Minor Characters
Name: Ellone
Age: Unknown
Ellone is a mysterious girl and the missing "Sis" of Squall's past. She has the ability to send a person's consciousness back in time and into the body of another, so they can experience and influence the actions of that person. She uses this talent to send Squall's party into Laguna's past adventures, hoping that they would alter the past; however, she eventually realizes that her abilities can only view history, not alter it. Ultimecia needs this power to achieve time compression, so she uses the Galbadian military to find her. After Ellone's parents were killed by Galbadian soldiers, she lived with Raine until she was captured by Esthar. She shares a close relationship with her adoptive uncle, Laguna, who rescues her from Esthar. After Raine's death, she moves to Cid's orphanage before following him to Balamb Garden. Name:
Raine (LeonHart) Loire
Age: early mid-20s
Height: 5'5-5'7
Bloodtype: AB or A
Birthplace: Winhill
Occupation: Bar Keeper
-Raine is a young lady who has spent her life in Winhill with her adopted daughter, Ellone. Raine acts very lovingly towards Elle but is also strict with her, and wants nothing but the best out of her. She finds the clumsy Galbidian Soldier, Laguna, wounded and ends up taking care of him. After she nursed him back to health, Laguna decided to stay in Winhill and help Raine with things, mostly Elle. Love didn't come at first for them, but it was actually the kind of love that slowly developes as two people got to know each other more. Later on, Laguna asks her to marry him (which was shown at the end of the game) and she accepts. Sadly, Laguna left her to rescue Ellone which took a very long time and Raine tragically died while he was away.
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
Most of you probably know this but for those who dont here's a little surprise.
After Laguna rescues Elle in Esthar, the people of Esthar elect Laguna as their president and Ellone is sent back to Winhill without him. After Raine dies,( the cause of her death is unknown but the obvious choice would be labour) her child (who Ward and Kiros imply to be Squall in a conversation aboard the Ragnarok) and Ellone are sent to an orphanage (which is Matron's orphanage) That's right people! Squall is Raine and Laguna's son.
Which would explaine to why Squall was connected to Laguna's past.
