Storyline:
Final Fantasy XIII is set in a futuristic world controlling advanced technology and magical crystals. Pulse, the world Final Fantasy XIII is based on has had an evil history which has resulted in the construction of the floating utopian city called Cocoon. The citizens of Cocoon fear the world below. Lightning, the heroine of the game is seen fighting soldiers in Cocoon in the E3 2006 trailer but we aren't sure why. All we know about her is her codename and the fact that she has amnesia.
World:
Pulse: The world FFXIII is located on is called Pulse. Little is known about this world but the surface is said to be feared by all. People take refuge in the city of Cocoon floating in the sky.
CoCoon: The city of Cocoon floats in the sky above the world of Pulse. It's a city protected by advanced technology against intruders from the planet below. The city is a futuristic utopia suspended above the a world many of its citizens fear below.

Though she has forgotten her real name, she is known by the codename "The Lightning". Square-Enix at first announced she probably wasn't the main character of FFXIII in an interview with the developers in Gemaga magazine however she has now been confirmed to be the protagonist of the game. With energetic ariel, physical and magical attacks she is a formidable fighter and a valuable force to have control of. During the E3 2006 trailer she was attacking enemy soldiers but it isn't clear whether they were allied with Pulse or Cocoon.
BackGround:
Very little information is known out about Lightning yet but Square-Enix has revealed that the two yellow stripes on the her left shoulder symbolise her Rank and Social status. This could mean she is or was a soldier at some point. Her armour also shows that she is some kind of combatant as seen in the E3 2006 trailer when she is fighting enemy soldiers.. Lightning's past is unclear at the moment because she is suffering from some form of amnesia.
Gravity Control:
One of Lightning's special abilities is being able to control gravity which is one of the main reasons why her fighting is so agile. She can control it by using the buttons on her finger and thumb. When she clicks them together she can perform gravity defying moves in the air. It is possibly an ability she can only perform while in Overclock mode as the gameplay in the trailer suggests

Snow Villiers is a member of Coocon's fal'Cie, one of the "chosen people". His character was designed with the idea that he should be able to carry a grown person under each arm and be able to run with them. He hasn't been seen yet standing next to anyone, so it's hard to guess roughly how tall he actually is.

He is seen for a moment in the Final Fantasy XIII trailers on the Shiva Sisters Motorcycle, pulling up guns blazing to what appears to be saving Lightning. He has said to be a Rushi, of whom are out to protect Cocoon, which complicates matters as to why he would kill Cocoon troops and save Lightning.

Snow's weapon of choice so far is a large enemy pistol. As well he rides around on a motorcycle that can transform into the ice summon Shiva, although the safety of an icy motorcycle is debatable. His style of combat is said to be humourous as he is a wild character. Snow has been nicknamed Mr. 33cm because of his enormous shoe size.

This new female character was revealed in the Tokyo Game Show 2007 trailer, shown in the Closed Mega Theatre. Her picture was first shown in the January 2008 V-Jump scans. In the trailer she was seen standing on a cliff watching the sphere in the sky fall apart. CD like discs began to fall out of the sky, one of which she caught and turned into the summon Carbuncle. No further background information is known about her character yet.

Shiva
In Final Fantasy XIII Shiva appears as two sisters, one light blue in colour and the other a slightly darker blue. These two sisters have the ability to transform into a motorcycle which the new male character arrived on in the Jump Festa 2006 trailer to come to Lightning's aid. Although she is a recurring summon featured in most of the previous titles in the series, this time around Shiva isn't limited to just the ice element but can apparently weild many of them.
Ifrit,Carbuncle,Siren have been seen in trailers as well.

StoryLine:
Final Fantasy Versus XIII is set in a place more closely resembling our modern day world. The city in the trailers we have seen so far have actually been designed based on modern day cities in Japan. This world is caught in a Cold War between two great nations with our un-named protagonist on one side. He is the last remaining member of a royal family which controls the last crystal in existance

During the Tokyo Gameshow 2008, this character's name was officially announced as "Noctis" which is latin, a literally means "night". He is the last member of the royal family in the city where he lives and rules. The city has recently come under attack because they possess the final crystal. He seems very determined to keep hold of this crystal. He portrays a very arrogant and cold character showing very few emotions. However, according to Nomura, he is a very shy person, but during his first encounter with Stella, tries to hide it.

Very little is known about this character although he has been confirmed to be the protagonist of the game. He has a mix between dark blue and grey hair and crimson coloured eyes which glow red when in battle. He has the ability to summon multiple weapons which he can use all at once because of the power the crystal has given him.
BackGround:
The protagonist is the last heir in a royal family which rules over the last remaining city in the world in control of crystals. Although we aren't entirely sure what power these crystals posses, invading soldiers are trying to take the last crystal by force. It's up to him to defend the city within a world which is engulfed in a Cold War.


"The Driver"
The Driver as he is known made his first appearance in the Jump Festa 2008 Trailer. Nothing is known about this character other than he seems to drive the car which The Prince has been seen riding in. His dress sense has been described as "like the Turks from Final Fantasy VII" and his most distinguishing feature at the moment is his glasses.
Background
Since he appears to be the Prince's driver, it is obvious that he is friends with The Prince and his group.

"Shotgun Guy"
“The Shotgun Guy” carries a shotgun around with him as the name we've given him suggests. According to early previews, he is a cross between Kingdom Hearts characters "Roxas" and "Zexion". He also bares as striking resemblance to Vann from Final Fantasy XII. He is seen walking through a market-type place with The Prince where he seems to be quite active and playful, and so far The “Shotgun guy” appears to be the happy upbeat character (Like Rikku, Selphie, Yuffie etc).
Background
The Shotgun Guy appears to be close to The Prince. He is seen during the TGS 2007 trailer playfully getting The Prince in a headlock and is later seen in a headlock himself by the Scarred Guy who also appears to be one of their friends.

"Scarred Guy"
This character has been dubbed the "Scarred Guy" from his characteristic scarred left eye. According to the FF&KH Blog, his size can be compared to that of the blonde haired man from Final Fantasy XIII. (Famous for his 33cm shoesize) In the Jump Festa 2008 trailer, he is seen playfully getting the shotgun guy into a headlock. He is dresses in dark clothing and wears a cross on a necklace which might indicate that religion could be brought into Final Fantasy again.
Background
Considering that he is seen having the Shotgun Guy in a headlock and laughing, it can be safely assumed that he is also part of The Prince's group and is one of their friends.

Stella nox Fleuret
Stella has been described as an unfortunate enemy of Noctis, as in, the two likely don't want to fight one another, but they must simply due to their allegiances. In Latin "Stella Nox Fleuret" means "Star, Darkness". She is the only confirmed enemy character for the game so far, with virtually no other detail known.

Background
This character has been nicknamed solely by the fact that she is a girl wearing a skirt. There is very little to no information about her other than her appearance and the weapon she uses in the trailer. She draws what looks like a Rapier sword when the trailer ends. Interestingly the patterns on the coloured spirals around both her and The Prince have the same design as the handle of each characters' sword. It is unclear whether or not she is an ally or an enemy of The Prince, but judging from the end of the TGS 2007 trailer, they appear to be standing against one another.

"White Robed Man"
The White Robed Man has not yet been seen in any public trailer, though he has made another appearance in the Jump Festa 2007 Trailer. This character has been seen in previous trailers fighting against The Prince inside the building which he fights outside in the both the E3 and Playstation Premier Trailers. It seems as though this White Cloaked/Robed man uses magic to fight. When he confronts The Prince, he summons large blue/green "discs" which are presumed to be some sort of magic attack.
Background
The White Robed Man's affiliations are unclear. He appears to be opposing The Prince, perhaps to gain control of the final crystal. He has not been seen with The Skirt Girl yet if she is against The Prince either.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII is based on a group of students attending some form of magical institute. It's unsure how but crystals will play a major part in the storyline just like the rest of the titles in the compilation.

So far he seems to be the main character in Agito but this hasn't been confirmed yet. The only other thing we know so far is that he attends a magic institute with other students.

These are all of the Agito characters we have had reavealed to us so far. Unfortunatly nothing is know about the characters except they are all wearing uniforms because of the magical institute they all attend.
