He is best known for being a member of popular J-pop band ARASHI, together with Masaki Aiba (相葉雅紀), Kazunari Ninomiya (二宮和也), Satoshi Ohno (大野智), and Sho Sakurai (櫻井翔). Matsumoto has been critically acclaimed in the acting field for his work in various films and television dramas. Normally serious and very dedicated to his work, Matsumoto has been declared by his bandmates as caring the most for ARASHI.

Random Facts (You Might Not Know) About Matsumoto Jun-kun!

* Joined Johnny’s Entertainment on 17/May/96.
* Instead of going through a series of auditions, he was exceptional because he received a personal call from the Johnny Kitagawa himself to come straight for practice.
* Won Best Supporting Actor awards at the Television Drama Academy Awards for the role of Shin Sawada in Gokusen in 2002, and for Domyouji Tsukasa in Hana Yori Dango in 2005.
* His favorite word is “Enjoy”.
* Once crashed Aiba’s car after driving a few metres.
* He likes his drinks warm (at room temperature) because his stomach isn’t strong.
* He doesn’t drink much but likes to make other people drink. Once made Nino really drunk but took good care of him. He got really drunk once and spilled red wine on Aiba (Aiba had white a shirt on).
* He played baseball in grade school.
* He can’t do a back flip (all Johnny’s boys are suppose to be able to).
