In 2005 Kojima Ryousuke's former band Pick2Hand disbanded and he started a solo project as UTARI. In the next year two new members (Satou Shuusaku from FREENOTE and Kajitani Masahiro from KOHL) joined Kojima Ryousuke in his project.

On November 2006 the group released the mini-album UTARI under the indies label sweet honey record.

In September 2007 they changed the band's name to the actual KELUN and released their second mini-album Astral Lamp under a major label, SME Records, a Sony Music Entertainment sub-label.

In May, 2008 Satou Shuusaku left the group, a month later Yukito joined the group.
