*Spokesman for Kanjani8 along with Shingo Murakami ( he has definitly a talent for speaking and loves to do so it's shutting him up that is more difficult lol).

*Joined the Johnny's Jimusho in september 1996 on his birthday ( don't u think that's a nice birthday gift along with Ryuhei Maruyama. He was immensely popular during his time in Kansai Juniors ( a bit like what Tackey was in Tokyo)
*He is the lead singer of Kanjani8, has the posession of a beautiful voice, can sing various styles even enka..
*Main vocalist for Kanjani8 subgroups SanKyoudai which is an acoustic music group and SubaruBand ( another K8 subgroup) whic is a rock band. "Switching effortlessly from one style to the next, Shibutani always retains his distinct identity, bringing his own flavour to each style".
*He plays several instruments; the guitar, the harmonica and the shamisen. He also played the piano from kindergarten to 5th grade.

*usually talks in behalf of Kanjani8 along with Yokoyama You ( he has very good host skills luv the way he usually conducts interviews/talk shows)
*Natural born comedian and because he is very sharp, he is usually the "tsukkomi" to Subaru or Maru's "Boke" ( love it when he hits them on the head, does that make me bad?^_^)
*Even though Kanjani8 don't have a leader , he is the one acting the closest to that role bringing the group together.

Date of birth : November 26, 1983
Nickname: Maru
*maru entering Johnny's is quite funny ; he passed his 1st audition on September 1996 ( at the same time as Subaru ) and even appeared in an idol magazine announcing their selection on the same day. But then he didn't hear anything from the agency for abt 6 months, so he reapplied in 1997. The 2nd time he met Yasuda, Ryo and Ohkura at the audition. Apparently his paperwork had been misplaced or lost the first time and Johnny san even asked him why he hadn't already joined (Great that he persevered otherwise k8 would have lost a precious member^_^).

*Maruyama has the role as bassist in Kanjani8 as well as in SubaruBand. he is known to be a very energetic performer on stage/in concerts. Maruyama usually sing the rap portions of K8's songs as well as doing most of the back-up harmonizing.
*Maruyama also participates in various comedic activities on his own or with other K8 members. In Kanjani8, he enjoys playing the "baka" role , cheering up the group's atmosphere by performing gags and cracking silly jokes. ( Actually for me he doesn't have to say anything just looking at him and his expressions make me laugh ^-^) he is also talented at impersonations.

*He entered Johnny's in 1997 together with Ryo ,Okura and Maruyama.
* when he was young he was called "Nandemo dekiru-ko"" The kid that can do anything" ( my guess is that he was given this nickname because he could do......everything yep i know m clever:)
*He is the main guitarist in Kanjani8. He also plays guitar and composes the music in Subaru Band and Sankyoudai (yet another K8 subgroup)
*He is known to be hardworking, energetic, excitable and pretty emotional ( remember when he cried when Subaru Shibutani stole his strawberry during a show it was soooo cute)
*He has one older sister. He has three dogs.
*He is very athletic and good at acrobacy, he picks up new skills and masters them quickly.
*He has 7 piercings, including a belly ring.
* he has a rather unique taste in clothes, he has said that "He doesn't believe in gender boundaries and often wears skirts and paints his nails". Nickname: Ryo-chan
*He entered Johnny's in 1997 together with Yassu ,Okura and Maruyama. He was singled out early on for many singing opportunities showcasing his clear high-pitched voice. He became known as Ryo-chan ('chan' = little/kiddo) because to his small size that stayed for a long time ( Chibi Ryo-chan so kawaii).
* He is one of the main vocals along with Subaru, he can play also the guitar.
*Other activities: TV actor ( who can forget 1 liter of tears great drama and currently doing great in last friends :), regular cast of several TV shows, radio-show host
* He is also a member of another popular johnny's group NEWS, he tends to show a different side to him in his other group.

Nickname: Tacchoon
*He entered Johnny's in 1997 together with Ryo ,Okura and Maruyama.
* he was the last one to join Kanjani8 when Johnny san decide to add an 8th member to form K8 but he it was on the condition that Okura learnt how to be a drummer in a month. Ohkura had never played the drums before but he began intensive lessons and managed to become a skilled drummer hence able to join K8.
*he also knows how to play the guitar and bass. Is part of the subgroup Subaru Band. Okura has a rather low voice.
* Is a quiet reserved person unless food is involved lol. he is absolutly mad about food . Has been quoted many times talking abt food such as sentences like "I live to eat." ( I absolutly love the combination Tacchoon+ food, it's always hilarious love to see the usual quiet okura become so animated ^_^)
*Comes from a rather wealthy family. His family owns yakitori restaurants in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hyogo and Osaka.
* Has performed in musicals along with K8 members and Koichi domoto's Endless shock. He is also an actor, recently co-starring with Nagase in Utahime.

Nickname: Ucchi, Hiro
*He was a member of both News and Kanjani8.
*On July 15, 2005 Uchi Hiroki was arrested for public disorder under the influence of alcohol. Because he was underaged and not allowed to drink at that time, he was quickly 'suspended from both his K8 and News activities by his company.
*Although not allowed to even mention his name in public, Kanjani Eight managed to let Uchi, and the fans, know that they were always "waiting for him"; through veiled comments, 'coded' messages, album/singles' cover illustrations, and gestures like leaving a gap between two members during the group-bow at the end of concerts.
*He was demoted to the level of a Johnny's "trainee".After nearly two years of absence from the entertainment scene, Uchi Hiroki made his first public appearance since his suspension in July 2007, acting in Shounen-tai's stage show Playzone. In a speech written into the play, Ucchi apologizes to the members of both his groups, and specifically thanked and apologized to Nishikido Ryo. He vowed to work hard to make amends and thanked everyone that had supported him for giving him a chance to be active again.
* In January 2008, Ucchi Hiroki made a return as an actorof of the small screen with a lead role in "Isshun no Kaze ni Nare," Nishikido Ryo also appeared in the show as a guest. He is currently actind as lead in the drama "osen".
* No official announcement has yet been made regarding Uchi's return to Kanjani Eight.
