KinKi Kids are formed by two members of Johnny's Entertainment, Koichi Domoto and Tsuyoshi Domoto. Though they have the same surname but they are not blood related brothers!

They are called KinKi KIds because firstly, the word "KinKi" means the west side of Japan, it's another name for kansai. Both of them are born in kansai of Japan but different area.

Secondly, there's a "Kids" is because when they are first formed in the group, they are still very small! They are only 15 years old thus they use the name "KinKi Kids" to perform on stage and on all the events.

That's how the name "KinKi Kids" come about! =)

KinKi Kids will be having their OWN COUNTDOWN in their HOMETOWN!

It has been revealed that Domoto Koichi (29) and Domoto Tsuyoshi (29) will hold their first countdown live on 12/31 at Osaka’s Kyosera Dome.

They are currently on their nationwide tour that started on their debut anniversary, 7/21, in Tokyo Dome. The end of this tour will be held during the end of the year (12/29-1/1) in their hometown (Koichi’s is from Hyogo, Tsuyoshi’s is from Nara) of Osaka’s Kyosera Dome.

From 1998 until last year it was tradition to hold lives at Tokyo Dome but after 10 straight years they have welcomed a turning point and an end. It was their wish to return to their beginnings so the Tokyo portion of the live will be held on 11/30, 12/1 and they will welcome the New Year in their hometown.

“I hope to welcome the New Year with everyone in Osaka enjoyably” said Koichi. Tsuyoshi commented “I am truly thankful from the bottom of my heart that we will be able to welcome the New Year with our own countdown live”
