An Arrancar is a hollow that has removed its mask to gain Shinigami powers. The transformation is a extremely exclusive & a very unique process. Only a few hollows have the ability to remove their mask and even those who are successful aren't as powerful as those created artificially by Aizen's Hougyoku (Hougyoku is sphere/device that can remove the limitations of a spiritual entity). When a hollow has taking off its mask and transforms into an arrancar is known as shinigamification. The location of a arrancar's holes are differnt than those of a hollow and they only have a small piece of there mask remaining. Arrancar that where originally a vasto lord become the most powerful and guaranteed a humanoid form. If powerful enough, an arrancar can seal his or her excess power into the form of a zanpakuto. An arrancar release/bankai is called resurrection. Because their powers are sealed in their zanpakuto, an arrancar's bankai will usually transform some or all of their body back into whatever their original hollow forms were, allowing them to use their original abilities. Arrancar normally only return to their human form when they reseal their hollow powers; doing so without resealing, though possible, is a permanent change comparable to amputating a limb. The reason arrancar go through such trouble to seal their power is twofold: it allows them to maintain human form and conserve their power in times of inactivity.
Zanpakutou Release:
Unlike Shinigami, the Zanpakutou of an arrancar are sealed in order to hold back their hollow powers. It is simply the hollow's true form sealed into a sword. Therefore, an arrancar's bankai (release) is merely a temporary restoration of their true former selves.
Clothing:
The Arrancar under Aizen's command all have a standard theme for their clothing. Their uniforms consist of a white jacket, black sash, white hakama, and black socks with white sandals.The uniform colors are basically inverted shinigami uniform. All Arrancar have a remaining piece of there hollow mask still attached.
Espadas:
Espada are the "Elite" arrancar composed of the top ten arrancar hand picked by Aizen based on their combat skill. Each Espada is assigned a number of 1 to 10 based on the level, this number is tattooed on their body. They are given special privileges, like ordering lower-ranked Arrancar around. There is a significant gap in power between the Espada and the other ranks.

Stark is espada #1. Stark is a male espada who appears to be very lazy; he is seen sleeping when the Espada learn of Aaroniero Arruruerie's death, and does not appear overly concerned by the news. His shoulder-length hair is dark and parted down the middle. He also has a goatee. The remains of his hollow mask consist of a bottom jaw that is positioned like a necklace. His hollow hole is on his sternum, right below the tip of his mask.

Halibel is espada #2. Halibel is the only current female Espada. Halibel does not seem to talk much. She has dark skin, green eyes, spiky blonde hair with several braided locks, and wears an oddly-cut variation of the arrancar jacket. Halibel carries her zanpakutō on her back; the sword itself is notably broad and short compared to others and has a western-style guard. The remnants of her hollow mask are partially covered by her collar, but it is clear that she at least has pieces of mask on both sides of her cheeks as well as thinner fragments that frame her eyes.

Neliel Tu Oderschvank is espada #3 (Former 3rd Espada)
She develops an attachment to Ichigo and follows him into Las Noches. True form-a fully-grown woman with longer hair but otherwise similar features. Her skull mask changes slightly. A large "3" tattooed on her back indicates that she was previously the 3rd Espada. Nel's initial ability is the power to swallow enemy attacks and fire them back with powerful force, indicated by the eyes on her skull mask glowing. Her vomit (which she believes to be saliva) also acts as a powerful healing agent
In her adult form, Nel's speed and strength are greatly increased, and her attack absorption ability is much easier for her to use

Ulquiorra Schiffer is espada #4. Ulquiorra is a male arrancar with a melancholic appearance and has green eyes with slit pupils. He has cyan[2][3] lines descending from his eyes, making it appear as if he is crying, and is almost always frowning. He wears typical arrancar clothes: a white jacket, black sash, and a white hakama; however, his jacket has longer coat-tails than others. Like most other arrancar, he possesses remnants of his former life as a hollow in his appearance.

Nnoitra Jiruga is espada #5. He is the 5th Espada, signified by the "5" tattoo on his tongue. He is an extremely tall and lanky arrancar. He has long, black hair, and typically wears a huge smile on his face which reveals his upper teeth. Nnoitra also wears a large eyepatch that covers most of the left side of his face. His hollow hole and mask fragments are behind the eyepatch, the latter consisting of a small set of jawbones and teeth surrounding his hollow hole. Nnoitra is rude and lecherous.

Grimmjow Jaggerjack is espada #6. He is ranked as the 6 Espada (Sexta Espada) in Aizen's army, Grimmjow has blue hair, an aggressive attitude and a serious trust problem makes Grimmjow one of the toughest in the group and seems to have a bone to pick with both Ulquiorra and Tousen. Grimmjow doesn’t care about the consequences shown as a result of the actions he has taken. A ruthless and sadistic individual, he is not above hurting those who oppose him and will often intimidate others to get his way. He shows absolutely no mercy when attacking others including those he is allied with.

Zommari Leroux is espada #7. Zommari Leroux is a tall, dark-skinned arrancar who displays a calm, contemplative personality and rarely speaks. His zanpakutō is called Brujería and resembles a regular katana except for the guard, which appears as a thick disk with spikes around the rim. It is released by the command "suppress". When released, Brujería covers his entire body with fifty open eyes, and his legs are replaced by a pumpkin-like structure surrounded by cycloptic faces. Using the eyes on his body, Zommari can take control of one object per eye. He refers to the effect as amor. Although he can take control of an opponent's limbs individually, he can also take control of their entire body by targeting their head. The release can also be used as a defensive resource, as its lower half can become a full sphere that covers his upper body.

Szayel Aporro Granz is espada #8. He is the 8th Espada and Yylfordt Granz's younger brother. He has shoulder-length pink hair and reddish-orange eyes. The remains of his hollow mask take the form of rectangular-framed glasses that give him a scholarly appearance. Szayel is an intellectual and the scientist of the Espada, thinking highly of himself and following his plans down to the finest detail. He has a variety of methods for analyzing an opponent's abilities, such as studying the damage done to their former opponents. Once doing so, Szayel can nullify the effects of their abilities, making him virtually immune to their attacks. He is quite sadistic and views others as little more than research material. He thinks poorly of non-hollows, and hopes that Aizen will someday eliminate all entities that aren't hollows.

Aaroniero Arruruerie is espada #9. He is the ninth Espada and the last of the first-generation Espada.[24] He has an unusual glass capsule filled with red liquid and two floating masks in place of a head. The two masks are both tattooed with the number 9, signifying his rank, and tend to talk in tandem when revealed, giving the effect of two people speaking in turn. The upper mask speaks with a deep voice while the other speaks in a high-pitched, child-like voice. He usually wears a white mask to hide this.

Yammy is espada #10. He is a giant, dark-skinned arrancar with a distinct ridged cranium and a black pony-tail. What remains of his hollow mask is the jawbone, which rests on his chin. A tattoo of the number ten, signifying Yammy's rank and level of power amongst the Espada, is on his left shoulder. Not the most intelligent individual, Yammy relies on his brute strength in battle, taking little interest in using his sword until he is overpowered. In addition to his strength, he makes use of cero and bala blasts, like many other high-class hollows and arrancar. He relies on his superior, Ulquiorra Schiffer, to explain things and give him orders while in battle. Aside from his fighting abilities, Yammy can suck the souls from living humans en masse using gonzui. It affects a wide area, but any individual with even slight spiritual power is able to resist it.
