[ Miyavi♥, born September 14, 1981 in Nishikujo, Konohana-ku, Osaka City, Japan, is a Japanese solo rock artist and former guitarist (under the name Miyabi (雅, Miyabi) for the visual kei indies band Dué le quartz, which disbanded in 2002. In the same year, Miyabi announced that he was going solo, changed his name to Miyavi, and released his debut album Gagaku. He soon signed a contract with PS Company along with other artists such as Alice Nine, Kagrra, Gazette, and Kra. ]

He is currently in a JROCK super group called S.K.I.N which features fellow artists : Yoshiki, Gackt and Sugizo.
But that hasn't stopped him from continuing with his solo career. =D

• Miyavi has a mother, a father, and a younger sister. He is also close with his grandmother.
• Miyavi writes, arranges, performs, and produces his own music. Though, recently he has been letting others help him with arrangement.
• Miyavi has claimed to be his own favorite artist.
• Miyavi's former stage name, Miyabi, means "elegant".
• Miyavi's favorite cologne is Dolce & Gabbana.
• Miyavi loves chocolate cake, chicken, and inari zushi.
• Miyavi hates broccoli and tomato juice.
• Miyavi admires Toshiya of Dir en grey, and Kazuki of Raphael.
• Kei from Baroque is said to look up to Miyavi.
• Miyavi says he has issues shouting all the time, no matter where he is.
• Miyavi says he cannot go a day without hugging someone.
• Miyavi wanted to be a doctor before he became a musician "because it's very important to help people".
• Miyavi has three piercings in his face (right eyebrow, left nostral, right bottom lip) six in his ear, and one "secret" piercing. The interesting thing about his lip piercing is, it actually goes through his lip as opposed to under/around it like most piercings do.
• Miyavi hit his front teeth on the microphone during his first major live. He continued as if nothing happened, but afterwards he said hurt so much he felt like crying.
• Miyavi loves his tattoos and piercings, but says he doesn't necessarily want a girl who shares those same features. However, he said as long as she's cute...it's alright.
• Miyavi is half Korean. Reason being : both his grandparents on one side is 100% korean
• His real name is rumoured to be Ishihara Takamasa, ( BUT. his last name is DEFINTELY Ishihara =] )
• Miyavi played soccer when he was young, but due to an injury he had to quit, and began playing and writing music. It was a turning point in his life. Although he still enjoys soccer, he said he wouldn't go back to it.
• He made an attempt to quit smoking in the summer of 2003, and has been spotted many times, even to this day, using Paipo. ( These are inhaler sticks that are made to help people quit smoking.) We believe he has succeeded in quitting smoking. =]
• He says he doesn't go shopping often because his clothing is either donated by fans or he keeps them from the photoshoots/music videos he participates in.
• Even his beloved black accoustic guitar was a gift. =O
• Miyavi commented on of his tattoos, Omitoufu: "It is the speech in the Buddha literature of Wisdom. I want to spend my life to find the answer of my heart".
Miyavi spends plenty of free time on his computer updating his "diary" (which is not actually a diary but a place where he can write messages to fans), and reading emails from his loyal followers. He asks them to send jokes and pictures when he needs to be cheered up. He thanks them for being there. He tells them he loves them, no matter what country they're from or who they are.
He's never afraid to get up close to fans during lives, holding their hands and even reading their fanmail on stage (those I know who've been able to witness this personally all raved the same way).
Miyavi loves his fans, and his fans love him unconditionally.
