• Miyavi has a mother, a father, and a younger sister. He is also close with his grandmother.

• Miyavi writes, arranges, performs, and produces his own music. Though, recently he has been letting others help him with arrangement.

• Miyavi's former stage name, Miyabi, means "elegant".

• Miyavi has three piercings in his face (right eyebrow, left nostral, right bottom lip) six in his ear, and one "secret" piercing. The interesting thing about his lip piercing is, it actually goes through his lip as opposed to under/around it like most piercings do.

• Miyavi hit his front teeth on the microphone during his first major live. He continued as if nothing happened, but afterwards he said hurt so much he felt like crying.

• Miyavi loves his tattoos and piercings, but says he doesn't necessarily want a girl who shares those same features. However, he said as long as she's cute...it's alright.

•On Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 4:22 AM, miyavi removed his signature piercing, the lipring.

• Miyavi is half Korean. Reason being : both his grandparents on one side is 100% korean

• His real name is rumoured to be Ishihara Takamasa, ( BUT. his last name is DEFINTELY Ishihara =] )

• Miyavi played soccer when he was young, but due to an injury he had to quit, and began playing and writing music. It was a turning point in his life. Although he still enjoys soccer, he said he wouldn't go back to it.

• He made an attempt to quit smoking in the summer of 2003, and has been spotted many times, even to this day, using Paipo. ( These are inhaler sticks that are made to help people quit smoking.) We believe he has succeeded in quitting smoking. =]

• He says he doesn't go shopping often because his clothing is either donated by fans or he keeps them from the photoshoots/music videos he participates in.

• Even his beloved black accoustic guitar was a gift. =O

• Miyavi commented on of his tattoos, Omitoufu: "It is the speech in the Buddha literature of Wisdom. I want to spend my life to find the answer of my heart".
