61st episode "Contact"
Furido fights and taunts Sora until Sora's true powers are unleashed. Furido then tells Sora that he is planning to use the four corpses to save the Land of Fire. Naruto continues his fight with Fūka and learns that she can use all five elemental jutsus. Naruto manages to chop off some of Fūka's hair and, infuriated, she manages to kiss Naruto and begin draining his chakra. Sora realizes that Naruto is in trouble from extra-sensory perception and rushes to find him. Sakura, Sai and Yamato arrive to help but Fudo and Fuen trap them. Fūka drains Naruto's chakra until she begins drawing on the Kyuubi's chakra which is apparently too "evil" for her. Chiriku and the other monks arrive and Furido and his team retreat. Yamato decides to return to Konoha for new orders and have Sora assigned to his team in place of Sai.

60th episode "Mutability"
Yamato and the gang face off against tough opponents, some of whom have advanced ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques. Yamato eludes his extremely strong opponent when he is mistaken for dead and realizes that the grave robbery was bait for a trap. Sora, unwilling to look for Naruto, goes off on his own and leaves Sakura behind. Back in Konoha, Danzo reveals that he is aware that he is being watched, and Tsunade learns of the trap. Naruto fights a pretty redhead whose kiss is fatal. While he tricks her with his shadow clones, she shows her ability to manipulate earth, fire, water and lightning. Sai realizes that Fuen is watching him go through the maze, and manages to escape her by transferring the tracking device to an ink clone. He later saves Sakura from a spider. Sora then finds the enemy leader, and it is revealed that he was the group's target.
