Ren Tsuruga is right now Japan’s idol #1 and probably one of the best actors of his time. He is the aloof type who seems to be introverted and doesn’t want anyone close to him. Even his more or less best friend and manager, Yashira can’t understand him sometimes. Generally, he is very friendly and polite but if something annoys him then he’s pretty blunt and tells it the other person with a dazzling smile that always leaves them stunned, not fully comprehending what really happened. His relationship with Kyoko is however is an entirely different story. He often makes fun of or scolds her but then there are those moments when he smiles warmly at her and you can see how much he cares. In later chapters it is also revealed that Kyoko and Ren met when they were children and Ren (although his name wasn’t Ren at that time) gave her blue stone that became very precious to Kyoko. All in all he really seems to love his profession as an actor and is always is determined to gives his best. A very puzzling character that is often quite unpredictable as far as I am concerned.

Sho’s parents own a popular ryokan in Kyoto and wanted him to take over the business with Kyoko as his wife when they were old. Sho however is pretty self-centered and didn’t want to comply with his parent’s wishes because he knew that the hostess plays the most important role in a ryokan and additionally he didn’t want someone as “unpretty” as Kyoko on his side. But then he knew what Kyoko felt for him and used this knowledge selfishly by asking her to come with him to Tokyo fully knowing that she will do anything for him. He seems more or less to be the shallow type who only likes girls with big breast, lost of make-up, etc. and he always expects girls to adore him, which they usually do. But on the side I think that his music is really important to him and he is does a lot for his career.
Personally, I think Sho always cared for Kyoko somehow (in the later chapter where they both have flashbacks you can see that Sho is concerned about Kyoko when she is sad) and now really starts to realize what he lost… and maybe he’ll want to try to win her back.
