//> Ayu Goku to Grace New Single

Popular manga-ka Toriyama Akira has been commissioned to draw an illustration of J-pop queen Hamasaki Ayumi (30, profile) for her latest single.
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
The connection of course is that "Rule" is the theme song for the global release of "Dragonball," the Hollywood adaptation of Toriyama's mega-popular manga. The first pressing of the single will be printed with the image of Hamasaki as the character Goku on both the CD and an accompanying DVD. It is the first time for Toriyama to create an original illustration for a recording artist. He said, "Actually I'm really not good at caricatures, and for a while I regretted taking on this job. Hamasaki-san has so many fans and I hope they don't get angry that the image doesn't resemble her!" Called "Dragonball Evolution" for its Japan release, the movie opens here on March 13. The double-A side single "Rule/Sparkle" goes on sale February 25.

American band Guns N' Roses were #3 on the album charts. Also in the top ten were Noriyuki Makihara (#5), capsule (#6), and CHEMISTRY (#7).
//>Jeff Bridges Talks About The Tech of TRON 2

A teaser trailer for Disney’s TRON sequel TR2N was the huge shocker at Comic Con this year. Recently The Guardian was ask Jeff Bridges about Tron 2 while doing press for How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, and here is what the actor said:
** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
“TRON 2 is another unique, wild experience that was too good to turn down. Engaging in that world again feels just like it did all that time ago. Basically, I’m still a child, I love being childlike, and here was another chance to play with these crazy toys. And the cutting-edge technology makes it exciting. Doing the teaser trailer for Comic-Con, I had my first experience of motion capture. And that’s turning the industry on its head. It’s amazing being part of that. … When we made Tron there was no internet, no cellphones. But now we have motion capture, so I think we’ll get a far more successful version of the story, which is someone literally getting sucked into a video game. When we did King Kong in the 70s, one minute you’d have a shot of Rick Baker in this big suit and then you’d cut to this 80ft stiff model, and they looked nothing alike. Compare to that Peter Jackson’s King Kong the technology is there and they did a wonderful job. I thought they created a beautiful Kong. So I hope that’ll be the same for Tron.”
I finally was able to see the trailer on the big screen at the recent Disney Showcase event, and it looked incredible. The original TRON will always have a place in my heart, but seeing the TRON world being created with modern day technology made my heart skip a beat or two. So I can certainly understand where Bridges is coming from. Speaking of which, I wonder when Disney will release that trailer online in High Definition? Or for that matter, when are they going to finally announce a release date? Even The Avengers has a release date, and I’m pretty sure development on TRON 2 is much further along.
//>Young Love for Ayaka, Mizushima Hiro
Popular actor Mizushima Hiro (24) and singer Ayaka (20) are madly in love, according to today's issue of weekly magazine "Friday." The mag includes a photo of the two sharing an umbrella in the rain, a common symbol of romance in Japan (similar to a heart pierced by cupid's arrow). They were spotted in Tokyo's trendy Azabu Juban district, where they enjoyed dinner together before disappearing into a luxury apartment building. ** Spoiler Alert!!! click to hide or show**
The couple are both with the Ken-On management agency, who refused to comment on the story, saying only "they're both adults..." The son of a former pro soccer player, Mizushima spent his youth in Switzerland and played the sport until his university days. He graduated from the prestigious Keio University and made his acting debut in the popular NTV drama series "Gokusen" in 2005. He landed the lead role the 2006 tokusatsu action hero series "Kamen Rider Kabuto." He's appeared in a handful of movies, including the big screen version of "Kabuto" and voiced the part of Bruce Banner for the Japanese dub of "The Incredible Hulk" earlier this year. Ayaka was the first female singer-songwriter to reach the Oricon chart top 3 with her debut release "I Believe" in February 2006. The following September, her 4th single "Mikazuki" became her first No.1 and she went on to win multiple awards in her freshman year.
//>It was announced that the latest big screen anime version of "Evangelion" is to be released in the early summer of 2009. The September 2007 release "Evangelion Shin Gekijoban: Jo" (New Theatrical Version: Beginning) was the first of a series of four movies to be directed by Anno Hideaki. The second episode, which features an appearance by popular character Asuka Langley Soryu, is entitled "Evangelion Shin Gekijoban: Ha" (New Theatrical Version: Destruction). The Evangelion franchise was born as a manga in 1995 and has become hugely popular, with a multitude of spinoffs in various media. The first three of the latest movie series are a retelling of the TV series and feature new scenes, characters, and more advanced CG technology. The fourth film will present a totally new ending to the story. The series is also meant to be more accessible to movie fans who are not familiar with the complex world of Evangelion.
☆Hero of the Week☆
Afro Samurai
Afro is an Afro-headed samurai and the main character of the series. In the story, when Afro was just a child, he watched his father die at the hands of Justice for the number one headband and from that day on, Afro swore vengeance on the man with Rokutaro's sword. Sometime after the death of his father, Afro was found by a Sword Master who taught him the art of kenjutsu and hand-to-hand combat, becoming a master swordsman. The Sword Master revealed himself to be the carrier of the number two headband that Afro had been searching for many years. Afro killed his mentor to gain the Number Two headband, giving him clearance to hunt down Justice, while turning his back on everyone he knew to continue his path of revenge. It should be noted that Afro's confrontation with Jinno made him become more open and vocal with his thoughts and emotions.
