Selena is a former Miss Hong Kong pageant and the winner of Miss Talent and Miss Photogenic. Selena is now a contracted actress with TVB in Hong Kong and she can speak Cantonese, English and French fluently, and a bit Mandarin. She is rumoured to be dating singer/actor Patrick Tang Kin-Wang, whom she met at the set of TVB series Just Love.
After her character Kwok Bo Lok in TVB series "To Grow With Love" was well-received by the audience, she gained more attention in Hong Kong with many commercial ads.
In May 2007, with much controversy over the battle of TVB and ATV, is selected 10 potential "fa dans" of the future by TVB High Executive Virginia Lok. Selena Li was regarded as the most successful actresses of the 10 selected, as she is starting to gain more leading roles.
