The Cell is a research facility in the Artic run by Director hitman-san and Doc Love (dmitrivalentine). It consists of the ice fortress above the water and the spherical laboratory hidden in the ice (and the Spike, the storage for the t-virus). It was built to research the t-virus...

... and other chemicals developed and researched by Umbrella Corporation. Unlike The Hive in Racoon City, The Cell is a more secluded area where if an outbreak were to happen, the damage wouldn't be as severe (its all your fault jakari).
