The Sound Four (音隠れの忍四人衆, Otogakure no Shinobi Yonin Shū?, literally "Hidden Sound Shinobi Four People", English "Sound Ninja Four") are Orochimaru's elite bodyguards. Rookie Nine is the phrase used to refer to the group of first year Genin from Konohagakure who, despite being inexperienced, were all nominated to take the Chunin exam by their respective Jonin-sensei. The group consists of Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke on Team Kakashi; Shikamaru, Ino and Choji on Team Asuma; and Kiba, Shino and Hinata on Team Kurenai. As Might Guy intentionally held his group back for one year so that they could gain more experience, Tenten, Neji and Rock Lee of Team Guy are not members of the Rookie Nine. After Sasuke's defection, this group is recast as the "Konoha Eleven" for the filler saga of the anime, and also encompasses Team Guy.
