About Higurashi no Naku Koro ni:

Keiichi Maebara arrives in the tiny village of Hinamizawa and befriends four cute local girls: Mion, Rena, Satoko, and Rika. The murders and disappearances that take place during the annual Cotton Drifting Festival remain at the center of series. But what causes those events: Is it the wrath of Oyashira, the local protector-deity? Is it demonic possession? Or are the deaths the results of all-too-human activities? The girls and detective Oishi present differing accounts of what's going on; Keiichi doesn't know whom or what to believe. After the first story comes to a grisly conclusion, he starts over, knowing no more than he did before.


Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is a great anime. I recommend it to everyone who likes horror and mystery. Be sure to watch the second season also! :3
