- Yamapi's weight at birth is 3600gr.
- His treasures are his family, friends, dreams, his features, jeans and Air Jordan 1.
- When he was young, he loved to go to the park and play with the sandpit!
- Words that he will express to the girl that he like are, "Please be my girlfriend." The simpler, the better.
- He disliked his own fingers because they were too short.
- He also dislikes fans making prank calls.
- Sports that he has learned are karate (from kindergarten to Primary 4 and he's got purple belt), baseball, athletes club (joined in Junior High and the event that he's satisfied with is short running in which he got a record of 7.6 sec in 50m short run) and swimming (learned it for 2 years).
- The most shocking thing that ever happened to him was when he was transferred to another school and a boy expressed his love to him! Apparently, the boy mistook him for a girl!
- His most unforgettable memory was when he finished running a 20km marathon in Hawaii : because he met Ryo for the first time in Hawaii.
- His target is to be like Hideaki Takizawa (Tackey&Tsubasa).
- He wants to live in Hawaii if he retired in entertainment business.

- Koyama (another member from NewS) is the reason why Yamapi is studying at Meiji University, otherwise he would just have taken extra classes.
- The first time Yamapi met Ryo, he was so sure he was younger, so Yamapi kept talking impolite to him, but Ryo then corrected him and said that he was actualy older than Yamapi. Because Yamashita was bigger than Ryo(height), he just never stopped talking impolite to Ryo, because he knew that he would win if they ever fought.
-Akanishi Jin, Shirota Yuu and Yamapi all have the same necklaces with the brand Janji (sp). It's a friendship necklace Jin bought for them.
-He barely brings anything to concerts and other out of town performances. Just a change of clothing and his cellphone.
-He's usually quiet backstage, and staring into space doing curls or push-ups. I think that relaxes him ~ Shigeaki Kato
-The name YamaPi is short for Yamashita Pink which was given to him by his idol Hideaki Takizawa (!!)after he saw that Yamashita is always put in Pink.(!!)
-He has two dogs, P-chan and Hime-chan. (!!)hime was originally named coco but his mom and sister kept on calling it hime so it stuck (!!)
-He has a birthmark on his left eye[not sure how true this is...]
-He plays the piano quite well. He had his recital at 14.
-He is very affectionate with his friends. He almost never misses a birthday or a special occassion with friends.
-He is very protective of his sister. HE said he still doesnt want her to have a boyfriend. (at age 19?! COME ON PI!!)
-He likes cooking, when he can, but he says that he's not very good at it.He hates cream. (well not very much of it, I guess)
-He updates his J-web daily. He loves it so much that he can communicate with the fans through it.
-Yamapi is very confident wheemail.
-He writes and uses scissors and knives with the right hand and eats with the left.
-He can draw a very nice "Bucktooth Doraemon". In the hotel once, they played Pictionary and he showed off that he could draw doraemon. Ryo-chan called it bucktooth.
- He always gives himself 100% in whatever he does.
-Yamapi and Jin also shares a special hand shake that ends with a heart.
-There was a time when a he and jin fought. It was in Jin's house. Jin is reading a magazine and he was so noisy saying this and that. Yamapi was so annoyed, he grabbed the magazine and threw it away then he punched jin and he shouted at him to get out even though it's Jin house. Then Jin answered him: "YOU get out". The next day they talked to each other like nothing happened.
- The model in the ANAN photo shoot(feb) is said to be an Ukrainian model. From that article, they said its impossible to get a Japanese model so they hired a foreigner instead.
- His grandparents went to their(NewS) concert in Yokohama. He says he realizes as he gets older the time he gets to spend with them will be less and less.
- He can't stand blue cheese(the taste).
- He admited he likes girls with big breast.
- He is not easy to fall in love "My heart is incredibly wary of love" - yamapi quote.

Okay, let's make it clear, Tegoshi is the smallest in the group,then why is he the tallest in this photo?? XP something went wrong in the photoshoot.....? (O_o)?

He entered Johnny's Entertainment when he was 11 years old in September of 1996. He is affectionately called Yamapi (short for Yamashita and pink) by his friends, which is a nickname given to him by Hideaki Takizawa (Tackey & Tsubasa). His closest friends call him Pi, which was first used by Jin Akanishi (KAT-TUN).

Since joining JE, he has been a member of Jr. groups B.I.G., Four Tops, Shuji to Akira, Kitty GYM and most recently NEWS. Yamashita began to appear in television dramas soon after he joined JE. In 2000, at age 15, his performance in Ikebukuro West Gate Park earned him an award for "Best Supporting Actor". That same year, he was voted first place in the Annual Junior Awards for "Best Boyfriend", "Most Beautiful", etc. for the first time.

When Takizawa made his debut with Tsubasa Imai as Tackey & Tsubasa in 2002, he left as the leader of Johnny's Juniors. Around the same time, Yamashita and fellow Juniors Toma Ikuta, Jun Hasegawa, and Shunsuke Kazama formed Four Tops. Four Tops then began to host the Junior television program, The Shōnen Club (Boy's Club).

In September 2003, eight other boys from Johnny's Juniors were chosen to form the group NEWS with Yamashita as the leader. NEWS's formation came as a shock to not only the fans of Four Tops but its own members as well. Yamashita later revealed that at the time, aside from Ryo Nishikido, he had barely talked to any of the other group members.

In NEWS, Yamashita is often in the front and center as he is the most popular member. Despite this attention, he maintains a silly personality which occasionally prompts his band mates to question whether he is actually human or not. He is good friends with Akanishi Jin of KAT-TUN and Jin's family as well as Nishikido Ryo, Shirota Yuu of D-Boys, and Ikuta Toma formerly of Four Tops. But except those, he once said that he has a hard time making friends, mostly because of his character.
