  • Hands down, best underdog sports anime.
You're going to need to watch the first two seasons (from other sites) before watching it here for his story to make sense/have any emotional impact on you. The story entails seemingly wimpy kid discovering his love for boxing as he climbs the rankings in the boxing world. Inspirational, comedic, yet suspenseful.

  • I really wish they would make more
I highly recommend this to whoever likes boxing or any sport. I really wish they would continue to make this anime, it is definitely ONE OF THE BEST ANIME EVER and the best in SPORTS GENRE.

This entire series is like the Rocky Training Montage, very motivational. All the characters have a very good background story which makes you connect with everyone on a personal level.

    Watch it!

  • Even if you don't enjoy a shonen or sports type anime, this is one of the BEST ANIME OUT THERE
Even if you don't enjoy a shonen or sports type anime, this is one to watch and put in the books! BEST ANIME OUT THERE

What a wonderful show put together start to finish. I literally never write reviews, but I had to for this one because I really support the anime itself and the company. The narrative, story telling, story progression, comedy, funny quirkiness of it, everything is amazing well ...

    Takamura is overshadow of ippo
They really need to make up their minds how is going to be the leader of this anime or story. Ippo has already lost twice in cording to the manga and takamura is some god that he never loses and the coach keeps praising him. Who story is this ippo or takamura, priories need to be made, I only see one fight of ippo for a couple of episodes then they they put takamura for the finisher final as the ...

  • Heading back in a positive direction
I was a bit worried when I started this anime because, though I loved the first season (5 our of 5 stars), I only thought the movie okay (3 out of 5) and kind of hated the second season (2 out of 5-almost rage quit several times). Luckily, this was much better than the second season. One of the key reasons was they backed off on the romance. As much as I love romance in shows in general, I'm ...

  • Waiting For More Seasons
I've only recently got into anime and manga being 17 years old, but this is the first anime I chose to watch because an old friend recommended to me. I was interested in boxing since i was 10 and this anime portrays many of the hardships boxers had to go through including the rough road to world champ many people dream of and the way it is portrayed in this anime is incredible and i believe ...

  • Emotion, Tension, Action, and Humor! This show's got it!
I've never seen any of the other Hajime No Ippo anime or read any of the manga, so I really didn't know what to expect when I started watching. I was pleasantly surprised by this series and I would say it was one of the better sports anime I have seen so far. Lots of action, lots of humor, and the characters weren't annoying. Here's my brief summary of the series without giving away too ...

  • Wish there was more to this
Hard to get enough of this series. The amazing build up to fights and the actual fights, the hilarious faces and personality of the characters and a bit of romance to top it all off. This has been one of my all-time favorite series for a long time. A must watch for anyone who loves sports anime and comedy.

  • You just can't miss it !
One of the greatest animes I have seen and certainly a fighting/sport anime you can't do without. You will follow young Ippo as grows from a shy high-school boy into a great sportsman and fierce boxer. Many secondary characters are great and compelling. Also, even though the fighting is terribly good, there really is more to this anime than just that. The trainning cycles are nice and the ...
