How does the Crunchyroll Anime Membership work?
You may purchase a
Crunchyroll Anime Membership (for you or a friend) using our easy and secure checkout system. Once you are an Anime Member, your Crunchyroll account will automatically be upgraded to have special premium benefits.
What are the benefits of the Anime Membership?
There are currently six benefits you enjoy as a Crunchyroll Anime Member:
- You'll get early access to most anime titles available on Crunchyroll, which generally means within an hour of the show being broadcast on television in Japan (compared to regular users who must wait up to a week later).
- In addition to standard definition, you may also enjoy High Definition (HD) 720p and 480p-quality videos for early-access (Simulcast) shows, as well as back-catalog episodes. Check out a sample of our HD content here.
- You will never be shown any in-video advertisements.
- Site-wide recognition as a premium Anime Member with a color-customizable star next to your name wherever it appears.
- Customizable wallpapers for your profile page.
- 1000 bonus CR points every month.
What is the anime selection like?
Currently we have officially announced a
lineup of great titles that includes Naruto Shippuden, Gintama, Skip Beat!, and Shugo Chara. There are many more titles that will be announced within the next few weeks. We will continue to add to this selection, so lock in a low price while you can!
How much do the plans cost?
Currently we are offering special promotional pricing: $6.95 per month, $19.95 every 3 months, or $59.95 every year. For your convenience, this subscription will automatically renew, but you may cancel your renewal at any time. However, by doing so you will lose the promotional monthly rate.
Where does that money go?
A significant portion of the membership fees goes towards supporting the people who created the anime. The remainder helps us defray the costs of servers, bandwidth, staff, and so on.
What payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Paypal is also available for one-time gifts. If none of these payment options are available to you, please check back frequently; we are exploring other payment methods.
Can I cancel anytime?
Of course! You can easily cancel your renewal anytime, online, 24 hours a day with no cancellation fees. Although, there are no refunds for partial subscriptions.

Is this available in my country?
While we try to get worldwide availability for all of our titles, due to the vagaries of licensing restrictions, we cannot promise that every single title released on Crunchyroll will be available in all countries. Detailed territorial restrictions are displayed on each video page.
What are the system requirements for viewing High Definition (HD) videos on Crunchyroll?
Due to the demanding nature of HD content, it is recommended that it be viewed on a computer robust enough to support it. Our minimum system recommendation is as follows:
- Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115; Version 10 or higher is strongly recommended (Check your flash version here. Get the latest flash player here.)
- Broadband internet connection (e.g. cable, DSL, etc.)
- Intel Pentium 4 2GHz or equivalent
- 256MB of system memory
