    Defining mediocrity for Spring 2017
In these times of hyperbolic, sensationalist media, the word "mediocre" has taken on such a negative connotation that it's become hard to use outside of insults. This very site's 5-star rating system seems to encourage an all-or-nothing 5-or-don't-bother rating scheme. If you're confused as to what the word, "mediocre," actually means, I invite you to watch this show. You will come to ...

New Season of Yuru Yuri is fantastic.
Cute girl wants to do a cute thing. Cute girl meets neko girl who does cute things. Neko girl and cute girl meet maid-chan who does cute things. Neko girl, cute girl, and maid-chan meet quiet girl. Neko-Cute-Maid-Quiet-Yuri love club is a go.

    8/10 ++

    Precious and heartwarming
Although still airing, it is such a cute show that makes my heart warm. While it does have some uncomfortable moments where they show cute and innocent characters in an almost "lewd" way, I think that's still an accurate representation of puberty. While the girls are still young and innocent, they're growing into their bodies and finding out more about themselves and others in "womanhood" ...

    Protagonist Proliferation!
So, a shy country girl moves to the big city and. . .becomes a scarecrow! C'mon, what'd you think was gonna happen? Hinako has always been tongue-tied around other people, no matter how friendly. But in an effort to change that about herself, she has enrolled in a high school in Tokyo with a theater club that she has seen perform. Too bad it's on hiatus when she arrives. So, what to do? Rely ...

  • Great New Chibi Anime
Loved this series! Hina-chan is super cute, great storyline. I love how it had chibi and regular art. Did not enjoy the ecchi-ness, panty shots and boobs flopping everywhere. I hope there will be another season though! 7/10

The calander in the last episode does say 2018, so I'm looking forward to another season.

  • A Surprisingly Good Show!
I had no idea what this show was before I watched the first episode, and this kind of anime is not usually what I like to watch, but it quickly grew on me. The characters are good and interact well with one another, and the episodes managed to amuse more often than not. Recommend giving this a try.

Same old, Same old - But really well done.
You know the drill; Pretty girl and group of friends who are also pretty girls do something harmless. The plot - Or rather, the premise - is uninspired, the characters are pretty two-dimensional, and the comedy is so-so.
It is, however, really, really pretty. And very cute, too.
What makes it different from other shows of this type is primarily two things:
Firstly, the Yuri subtext is well ...

Painfully shy girl wants to become an actress. Visually stunning in places, excellent animation.
Sakuragi Hinako moves from the country to go to a high school with an acting troupe, in an attempt to overcome her shyness around strangers, she will freeze up and become a "scarecrow". This is a charming kawii anime in a good way. The characters alternate between being normal H.S. girls and their Chibi counterparts, but it's well done without the "ewww" factor. The animation quality is ...

Really Pretty Art, Good Story, Funny Sound Effect Might Need to be Tone Down a Bit?
I just wanted to rewrite my review to be a bit clearer for others, and to apologize since my review likely sounded mean.

This anime is about Hinako, a girl with sever social anxiety, going to Tokyo for school so she could become an actress. While there, she meets others who have quirky personalities.

The anime, so far is quite pretty. The settings and characters are very nice and cute. The ...

    Unsettling, Scary, Moe(?)
When I watch anime, I look for anime that have an idea what they're doing. A show that has realistic characters, good action, maybe even just a good soundtrack, but they share one thing. They know what they're doing.

The creators of Hinako Note have created the single most unsettling character to exist in a television program I have personally watched, and they're supposed to be cute. So shall ...
