Around Episode 6 I finally figured it out.
This show embodies what people who don't like anime see when they watch anime; tons of bizarre characters, incomprehensible (at first) storylines, ludicrous bewbs, jarring mood swings from epic melodrama to screwball comedy. I think that's the reason I loved it so much. Watch and celebrate the glorious excesses of anime.

    Wild crazy funny anime
This Anime was refreshing, it is very complex and lots of funny puns. The main characters are not your every day main characters and I love that. Tori is wacky and zany and Horizon is like the complete opposite of him, they are anti-heroes in a sense. But Gin Tachibana is what put the icing on the cake for this show, I love Gin, she is HILARIOUS!! I can't wait for the next season of this show.

    WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?!
Okay, now that my outburst is out of the way, I think there's a lot lost in translation. This series seems like it's got some great dialogue with wonderful jokes and puns, though it's hard to keep up and my Japanese is really rusty to fully follow along. But, the translation (subbing) completely misses the mark that is attempted.

Long story short, it's great art and wildly fun action, but ...

Is a good anime, not epic
Art is good, Character development is poor, action regular but I'm glad I give a chance to this series. I will continue to season 2 hoping is much better. I think they should put more action on the fighting this still have great potential.

Update: After complete the season 2 it do have great battles but it keep me empty, maybe I like more serious anime like GITS, but still I didn't feel ...

What I thought about this anime.
A slightly confusing anime with a bit of romance and unique battles. The characters in this anime vary in personality and looks. The debates between characters are so insane that makes debates look fun. I suggest you watch this anime but might need a history book. Lots of historical references makes this anime very interesting to watch.
    Enjoy

This Show. Wow! Really could go either way
ok in short i haven't even finished the show yet, but chances are i wouldn't need to re watch it at some point. its a confusing story. idk if id call it complex, but trust me going into this in the dark is a difficult thing to do. they really throw sporadic pieces of back story and plot at you almost like their intention was to be difficult. the characters are a plenty and they range through ...

A Spinal Mind Screw with Passion
Season One started surprisingly overpowering, by exposing language that was not accepted by the average imagination. To put it to a dull; (Pardon my French) Mind fucked the crap out of everyone. As an English major, I was no exception. The further I put up with it I continued to learn the language and continuously paused in order to understand it. As the episodes went on, I have had learned it ...

Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere Review~
After finishing watching this sequel series of the original Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, I took a deep breath. A breath of refreshment. A breath of coolness. A breath of that feeling of “what the fuck did I just watch”. But what I got from this series is what I expected. Yes, that's right. Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere II is one of those series that I found so bad that it's that damn ...

Confusing beginning, but after a bit the story gains momentum
So, I was reading one of the reviews on this, the newest one by BrazinBox, and it so totally messed up the story I couldn't believe it...Japan being the only inhabitable land...pocket dimensions...inhabit space...I have no clue what this guy was watching, but it COULDN'T have been this. First: Humanity had "ascended" to a "god-like status", not attempted to inhabit space. This is said in the ...

Top tier of Fall 2012 Anime
    The Good
    Superb art
    Solid voice acting
    Laughable, yet intriguing story.

    The Bad
Rather odd story. Nothing a respectful viewer can't tolerate, but odd enough throw people off.

    Verdict
Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere is unquestionably the top tier anime of Fall 2012 season.
Anyone who wants a solid piece of work might want to check the series out.
