This show was really disappointing. Bongson, a cop from a working class family, falls in love with a wealthy designer who's keeping his identify a secret and working as a parking attendant for the fun of it. Great setup, but almost all my expectations were let down.
Because the heroine (Bongson) is a cop and the hero (Jaehi) is a rich artist, I assumed she would be tough, while he would be the finicky type who was smitten by her toughness. Bongson turned out to be a really weak character though. She'd act cold and try to stand her ground, but she got pushed around and used constantly. She couldn't even win against an old lady who slapped her; Jaehi had to "rescue" her. Whenever there was a crisis, Jaehi handled the situation. Also, since she's a cop and it's an Asian drama, I expected her to have at least some fighting skills, like the stuntwoman from Secret Garden. Bongson lost every fight she got into, even against her stepsister. Finally, she was really unprofessional; I want to avoid spoilers, but at one point, she really should have arrest Jaehi and chose not to. Although I like it when the leads trust each other, the relationship just wasn't at that level yet.
I didn't like Jaehi much either, but it's harder to say why than with Bongson. I guess he was too perfect. He was incredibly talented, good looking, and his wealth was self-made rather than inherited. He also had a lot of emotional baggage; a terrible childhood and then some traumatic events later. Finally, he was this incredible fighter. I found the combination of all these qualities kind of incongruous. Also, it was hard for me to believe that someone with that kind of childhood, who was a self-made millionaire by 25, would be wasting his time playing parking attendant. I didn't like Bongson but at least I found her believable. Jaehi wasn't believable.
I don't have high standards, but I found this drama really lacking in imagination and intensity. The relationship between the leads was also unfounded and contrived.
