I was bored and wanted to watch a drama until I saw Iljimae's picture :O I was like "omg he's cute" but ehhh it's set in the ancient period, not my taste but as the show started after the 2nd episode I was hooked.! At first you're like huuuh.?? cause it goes back in history of how Iljimae came to be and why he does what he does and then after episode 3-4 you're hooked.! AMAZING.! CUTE characters.! TEAR JERKER, ROMANTIC, FUNNY AND ACTION-PACKED.! LOVED IT.!!!!

If you have patience the story gets better towards the end till then just deal with the main characters stupidity till then..........if you can. I just can't shake the feeling I wasted my time.......maybe i was expecting more action? nah but the story started to get on my nerves after a awhile. Either way like it or hate it this show will be as close to an action drama as u can get on here.
hmmm now that I think about it that kinda sucks

This show is really wonderful. Even the music is awesome. It varies from emotional and dramatic to exciting.

The cast is done perfectly. The villians are annoying, crude, and may make you hate them. I rooted for the hero's and sympathised with their hardships. Usually it takes a few episodes for me to want to see more. Right away this show brought me in.

The lead character acts like a fool in the day and is intelligent at night. Lee Jun Ki portrays both sides of this character well. He can be funny or serious. One minute I'm laughing at him the next I think he's pretty cool. Other actors really worthy of noting is Cha-Doll and Swe-Doll.

The child actors are very good. I don't say that often. It is though they were carefully picked not only for their ability to act but to resemble their older actors.

The scenery is gorgeous. More so out of any drama I've seen. It is simple at times, but everything is put together nicely. I read somewhere they even paid a good amount for Iljimae's armor. Even though there is a lot of drama and some sad episodes there is also some comedy and excitement so it doesn't for the most part (in my opinion) become one of those constantly sad shows. I loved the action and fight scenes.

This drama was able to do what few can... actually balance romance, drama, and ACTION.

Note: on the rating it says "animation" however on the page you vote instead of saying animation it says "acting".

I thought that Jewel in the Palace was amazing, but so was this series and I absolutely fell in love with Lee Jun Ki as the main character. He is such a great actor. But that goes for all of the actors and actresses in this series. I just wish it could have been a little longer or at least have him return in a second season.

Enjoyable Iljimae Historical Drama

Enjoyable and entertaining drama a little light as a historical drama and appears to be more slanted toward a teeny bopper audience. Having said that, the cinematography and general storyline is enjoyable, however, seasoned martial art viewers will be disappointed at the laughable attempts by the main character to portray an experienced / great martial artist.

Iljimae is a very good show to watch,it has my favourite actor Jun Ki Lee and he is very funny in the drama. There is a love triangle between him and a girl that he met when he was young and a girl that he met accidently. My favourite part in the drama is when he turns into Iljimae and steal money from the higher ups and gives it to the people that are poor and when he does the right things for the people.*This is one of my favourite dramas*

The legendary Iljimae!

This was yet another K-drama that managed to surprise me. Iljimae is definitely a K-drama worth watching. The first episode opens with a masked vigilante robbing a palace. A wonderful opening scene and a critical scene that will stick in your mind until the last episode. In this adaptation of the comic Iljimae tells the story about a man with a tragic past. The story begins from his childhood and events slowly unfold that transform him into the legendary Iljimae. You could say he's across between Batman and Robin Hood in that he steals from the rich while concealing his true identity (not to mention his super cool hidden base of operation). Driven by his need for vengeance, Iljimae sets off on a quest to set things right and therefore must face his past. With an outstanding supporting cast, Iljimae is a great mix of action, comedy, and intense drama. The story is packed with suspense and plot twists that are shocking as well as hilarious. Iljimae won't disappoint!

This was a very sweet and heart felt drama. It's full of complex twists and interesting plot. From the 1st 30 minutes I was hooked on it like crack. I managed to finish it within less then 2 days. The drama is humorous, but also tragic, you can almost feel what the characters are feeling. I was also happy to hear there was another IIjimae series, but its different plot and characters (based more off the manhwa) >:( The ending was ok for the series, but your left guessing. I give this series 100/5!! <3 I DEMAND READER OF THIS REVIEW TO WATCH THIS AWESOME DRAMA!!!!!!!!
