Ixion Saga DT

After watching the first few episodes I thought Ixion Saga was going to be one of my favorite animes. The jokes were pretty good and I wanted to know more about the world and characters. But maybe around the double digits? the episodes get less and less funny. The jokes become repetitive (especially the dirty humor jokes...I love dirty humor and thought I couldn't get tired of it, but I was wrong...) and definitely more random than funny. I couldn't understand what was going on and after some point you just kind of stop caring what goes on. Since the series started off pretty strongly, here's hoping that it's just in a slump and that it gets better later, though, I've lowered my expectations pretty severely.

I've watched a ton of anime lately and sad to find many are the same thing just repurposed...that being said, I have never laid eyes on anything remotely like this. If i had to pick one that was close its Gintama. that is to say Gintama and ISDT are as close as heaven and earth.

Kind of like SAO where it takes place in a different world (that initially you would think is a game world) and uses swords and has great battles(all running gags) chalked full of crude humor.

Overall the art is great, story (provided it actually has one) is awesome, action is abundant, both heros and villans are set up well (that is to say sometimes you feel sorry for the bad guys). this needs a bit pf a push to get me to call it a 10 like SAO but i happily give it a 9/10. i recommend this to any fan of almost any type of anime, if you cant appreciate crude humor certainly move on.

This is an anime that you'll either love or hate. Personally I hate it. The first episode was amusing but after that it lost all momentum. The first time they made the ball cracking joke it was funny, by the third time I was bored of it. Having a beautiful transvestite was slightly amusing at first but after a while it became tired and utterly insensitive. Beyond that you have the tough idiot who likes cute things and the young queen who is the only one with real intelligence, yet spoiled and ridiculous, and finally the main character. A whining little coward who spends half the time freaking out and overreacting to trivial things in a way that's supposed to be funny.

To be honest I love the first episode. It was interesting and quirky, and I thought there might be a good plot behind it. I actually found the jokes to be funny at first as well. It was fast paced, it was exciting. Then they skidded to a halt. They reused jokes, they spent episode upon episode not progressing the story, doing random gags that they reuse over and over. Hell from what I've learned of the story so far it makes no sense whatsoever.

Still some people love it. Basically if you like ball-cracking jokes being told over and over, enjoy gay jokes about a transvestite being repeated, and enjoy senseless randomness that doesn't really go anywhere you'll love it. If you have taste and more than a couple of brain cells you'll hate it.

Ignore the bad reviews, this is hilarious. As a person with more than 60 animes beneath my belt, this anime does a REALLY good job of poking fun at cliches in video games and anime. The characters use their stereotypes to their advantage, the setting and battle scenes are endlessly funny, only one thing I didn't like about this anime is the Transsexual he-she. That really irked me but u get over it after a while. My favorite line, "Talk more courteously, so end your sentences with *NYAN*"

I used to remember a picture book that was published for children, who haven’t learn how to read properly yet. It was meant to help differentiate between candies and medicine pills along with the symbol that means “Poison” for poisonous substance such as cleaning and insecticide household products. And let’s not forget the anime “Recorder and Randsell” the 3 min series that enumerated all the possible ways to get mistakenly apprehended for child molesting. As for this particular anime, to be produced by TV Tokyo and Pony Canyon, aimed for shoujo and shounen demographic, I believe that there is something here than silly story plots and ridiculous characters. Ah! Could it be?! That this anime was an attempt to break down the wall of discrimination between personal sexual preferences? Or, perhaps, maybe, it is meant to take the Mickey out of individuals and their eccentric personality. If it is, then, it’s not too bad after all.
