    A woefully underrated masterpiece.
Why this movie doesn't get more recognition is beyond me. Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade is one of the greatest crowning achievements of Mamoru Oshii and Production I.G, the makers of the legendary Ghost in the Shell.

Taking place in a parallel dystopian 1950s Japan where the country has been conquered by Germany, the film follows Kazuki Fuse, a member of the elite Kerberos Panzer Cops, a ...

All time classic wonderful to watch.
One of the higher echelons of Anime movies. Deffinately worth a watch to any who have yet to see it. I liked the idea of the movie more than the movie itself -- though sections of it are mind-blowing.This blend of fairy tale and horrific post-war scenario makes Jin-Roh something of a landmark for anime fans, and a fascinating way in for first-timers.

Every Time I analyze in my head I change how I feel
I started off saying this was a 5 star anime because it is really philosophically powerful which I like in an anime. Then I felt that it was a 4-star because of little to no character development. then I felt it was a 5 star because actually very well done character development. Subtle and yet actually key to the plot. Then I realized it was really only one character who developes and decided a ...

Still amazingly good after all these years
Jin-Roh holds up extremely well after all these years; it is a work that can be viewed through many different lens and is well worth watching and thinking about it afterwards. It works as a character study, a modern day fairy-tale, a meditation about humanity and the ways that we like to pidgeonhole ourselves into roles and beliefs.

The movie still has amazingly realistic animation (the ...

Highly Recommended! Deep, dark, realism, with a relatable theme.
Not previously mentioned is the soundtrack masterpiece composed by Hajime Mizoguchi. He perfectly sets the mood on every scene.

    -Superb animation
    -Amazing soundtrack
    -Deep gritty story

If you like the above points this is a must watch. Enjoy

  • A classic in every sense of the word...
This is a magnificent movie. I am unable to write a review that would do this story justice, and I will not attempt to provide detail within the review to potentially spoil this movie for those who haven't seen it yet.

    Art Style (8/10)
    Story (10/10)

  • Great Film but PAY Attention
The film is fantastic. Both the English dubbed and original. Excellent animation. When the action kicks off it is beautifully animated that it is hard to imagine the film is almost 20 years old. The biggest gripe is that this is no simple plot. Which isn't a problem, But key parts of the story (double crossing, triple crossing, etc.) is brought up once. And if you miss it you may find yourself ...

  • a movie that could have been a series
while i will be the first to say i really like this. it is very violent and it has a lot of times where it is introspective of the world in the movie and the character choices. what great about it is that it is a true thriller because the movie plays like a hat trick where you think you know the characters but by the end your whole perspective has changed and that really cool

Animation that makes your eyes water.
    Required viewing for anime fans!

Jin-Roh can be sold on its animation alone. It just so happens that there is also a solid story tagging along.

Very little detail is given on the world Jin-Roh is set in, but you are given enough to get the gist of what is going down. The story can feel slow, but the time spent watching this movie will not be in vain.
