Sr. Web Developer

Crunchyroll is looking for world-class front-end web developers to work on our websites and other HTML5-based application platforms. The ideal candidate is a full-stack web developer with a preference for front-end work. Qualified candidates are highly technical and love keeping up with the latest web technologies. They are capable of building a Javascript+CSS MVC framework from scratch. They love to optimize page load times, handwrite clean, semantic markup for both humans and machines. They ask "that's an interesting website, I wonder how they implemented it" and then proceed to inspect the DOM and network requests. They are software engineers with strong technical design principles, not hackers.


  • Work with other engineers, UI/UX designers, and product managers to add and maintain features for our websites, including and
  • Work on developing video streaming apps for new HTML5-based platforms, like certain smart TVs, game consoles, and set-top boxes.
  • Work on developing web-based libraries, tools, and SDK components for our internal platform framework.


  • BS in Computer Science
  • 5+ years working with Javascript, HTML, CSS in a professional setting
  • Strong fundamentals in algorithms and networking
  • Expertise in Javascript and CSS
  • Proficiency in RDBMS such as MySQL
  • Familiarity with MVC frameworks
  • Familiarity with code design principles and common patterns
  • Experience in automated testing a plus
  • Proficiency in PHP (Symfony) a plus
  • Strong communication skills and team player
