Video Streaming Test Engineer

Engineering Team | San Francisco

This position will be to work on the the Crunchyroll Live Video system. The primary focus of this position will be to help build and maintain both a scalable system to ingest and process livestreams from around the world and to deliver live streams across multiple devices.


  • 2+ years experience with live video streaming (rtmp, mpeg-ts, HLS, HDS, DASH)
  • 2+ years real-world Python experience
  • 3+ years Linux experience
  • Experience building a live video workflow system
  • Experience building and testing live video streaming to multiple devices
  • Experience with various Video Streaming platforms (Adobe FMS, Red5, Wowza, Evostream) a plus
  • Experience with various Video Streaming clients (VLC, XSplit, Wirecast) a plus
  • Experience with various Video Streaming Workflow services (brightcove,, livestream, ustream) a plus
  • Working knowledge of message queue protocols and technology
  • Developer Support for Video Streaming:
  • fronting support escalations to Video Team
  • Working closely with Support Organizations.
  • Developing and managing Staging/Test network for the Video team.
  • Tools developments.
  • Working and Managing technical issues with vendors
  • Fixing bugs
  • Ability to perform both white box and black box testing.
  • Automating Use case for Video System.
