The Hype Holds True. Ship Girls, what else do you want? Action? It has that too!
I don't believe in the sake of bad reviews just because its not your style, so let me clear some things up. Complete rewrite of this review after the second or third episode and everything starts getting cleared up.

Kancolle is a card collection battle game, so if you NEED really well defined plots, with a good character driven story, Kantai Collection isn't your cup of tea. Despite ...

    First episode, but looks promisng
I'm not going to lie, I was looking forward to this Anime for months ever since the teaser came out. The Teaser made me chuckle and this made me chuckle harder. I just finished Blue steel a few days ago, and I find this a bit more captivating mainly because it's a traditional 2D Anime and doesn't make you think of Miku Miku dance when you look at the characters. I'm watching this because I saw a ...

Just go watch Arpeggio of Blue Steel
Seriously, just go watch Arpeggio of Blue Steel. This anime is obviously intended to be fanservice for the people who are obsessed with the game it is based on and nothing more. If that's you, then you already know you want to watch this. If that's not you, don't bother. The characters are shallow and uninteresting and the plot is practically nonexistent.

Edit: If you notice, all of the 5 star ...

Amazingly well done and a good representation!
Anime stays true to the game, and i've played the original, there are plenty of references to the game and caters to veterans and newbies alike, don't be fooled by people who moan about it being Arpeggio X Strike Witches, the animation is smoother and the art is gorgeous, even if you have never played the game, stick with it and you might be pleasantly surprised.

The ocean's forecast for today is...
    Barometric temperature: Mild.
Cloud cover: Typical of slice of life.
Duration: probably 12-13 weeks, as is usual for series based on games and such.
    Story: Predictable
    Characters: Flat
    Artwork: Excellent
    Music: Mild, but epic
    Action: Awesome
    Directing: Good
    Moral warnings: yuri, revealing clothing.
    ...
And yet iron-ically, all the girls are carrying heavy equipment. XD

I Felt This Was Fitting Representation Of The Game
I've been looking forward to this series since they announced it and the teaser i watched made me more wanting to see it.

Having the same voice actors as the game is a huge plus with many of their keys lines and catch phrases being spoke in just the first episode i'd be curious what other ship girls they bring in.

I was disappointed in the transformation sequence (if you call it that). it's ...

Not for Everyone, Just for the Right People
As a player of the game, I for one find this show exceptional. Captures the spirit of the franchise wonderfully and the presentation is simply marvelous. However the fact remains that some see it as less than stellar, mostly due to people going in blind.

If you find yourself not liking the show, chances are that the moe war genre is not your thing, or you have all the wrong expectations for it ...

    why fubuki-chan! why!!!
looks promising. animations a lot better than i thought it would be in the action scenes. im not gonna lie.. it was pretty intense. but... they are so focusing on the wrong character. before you flame. i have no problem with moe slice of life at all. and no... i've never played the game, so i dont know what part fubuki-chan plays and really dont care. shes boring. even out of the squad shes the ...

Personally i love it but its not for all.
    The animation is fantastic.
The characters so far seems to be a little cliche but there is time for development
The story is absolutely ridiculous and unique which is why i love it.
Its not for everyone though even though only one episode is out it already seems like an over the top show that will try to become serious and i feel that will ruin the show if it gets to serious.

Give it a try, who know.
Well my advice to anyone is to at least watch the first 5 ep. of a series before saying its bad. That being said, I feel like an anime based off one of the big japanese games out there can not be that bad at all. Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis was based off of a game and that anime was very good, therefore i believe that this anime should also live up to its name.
