    great animation ...but something's missing
the animation is truly beautiful but that's about it couldn't make it pas 3rd episode to me personally this anime is really boring , easily predictable i will give it two stars because of how well the animation is made however wouldn't recommend this anime to someone who gets bored easily and loves tension in an anime.. there are people saying that if we played the game we would understand the ...

    If you play the game...
I love this anime mainly because I've been playing this game for about a year. If you've played the game you'd love both of the animes. Only anime watchers... well that depends what you're into. If you're a guy who's not into hot anime boys fighting then I don't recommend it. The game itself does not have much of a plot so creating one from scratch was difficult according to the producer. The ...

    Touken Ranbu: Epicness after 1
The animation-gasm only produced by studio Ufotable will smack you right where it counts in the first episode, which is all the series can be judged by at this time. Will this series fall short of the mark like other Ufotable game adaptations (here's lookin at you Tales of Zestria). Have they learned from their mistakes when it comes to world building and character development resulting in a well ...

  • Sword Boys Save History
I never played the game, but I really enjoyed this show. It's not going to land with everyone, especially those who require eechi tropes/ little sisters/ fanservice crap in their anime. Feels like it was made for fans of old samurai cinema, so if you need lots of yelling and hijinks this isn't where you should be. Touken Ranbu is about great art, great animation and men wrestling with the ...

  • enjoyed it definately worth watching
animation and sounds track worth 5 stars alone. plot was lacking a bit but characters were good and fight scenes were dope. if you got the time watch touken ranbu - hanamaru first. its a little slow, basically just a long character intro, but it will let you in on whats going on in the series' and make it more enjoyable.

  • Simple plot, amazing animation likable characters.
I really liked this anime, despite the reasonable criticism of it having shallow plot. I enjoyed the beautiful animation, and the ASTONISHING fight choreography!
Sure, if you have to watch complex/story heavy anime to get your rocks off, then this won't do much for you. But, if you're like me and enjoy awesome fight scenes before everything else, you'll love this anime. And it has enough truly ...

  • Great Fast Paced Action With "Quick, Follow Along Storyline"
First of all I knew nothing about this anime. Never played the game or care to. I wanted Action and I got it. The storyline is easy to follow if you are willing to wait 2-3 episodes in to understand what is really going on. I think people need to remember this is a rarity these days. Its too hard to find a good action anime without any ecchi or fan service. This gives you a little blood, a lot of ...

  • Great Animation and Strong Historical Connection
As expected, ufotable's mixture of 3D backgrounds and 2D characters blends beautifully together. The fight scenes, especially the final battle, are really amazing to watch. I haven't ever played the Touken Ranbu games, but the entire historical premise really shines in this series. Even just a little knowledge of Japanese history might help you enjoy the show even more.

  • Not worth watching if you didn't play the game
Maybe the reason why I gave it such a low rating because I didn't play the game. I definitely wouldn't recommend this anime if you didn't play the game like me. I did finish the anime since I wanted to give it a chance as a whole. The animation reminds me of the 'Shall We Date' games. The problems that was brought up throughout the anime was anti-climatic. The characters seemed awkward and there ...

  • Great anime! ufotable and the fight scenes are the best
To be honest this is not an anime that a person new to Touken Ranbu should watch. This was made to cater to the fans of the series so they could finally see their favorite swords in action. Sat and watched all the episodes in one go as I'm a huge fan of historical settings and Touken Ranbu. The action scenes are beautiful thanks to ufotable being in charge of producing this. Also, I teared up a ...
