  • An introduction to Jazz
Sakamichi no Apollon | 坂道のアポロン made me like Jazz. That is how powerful the content, under the direction of Watanabe Shinichiro and music composed by Kanno Yoko, is to me. For a show, any show, let alone anime, to do that, is something to be noted.

Much like Jazz, Sakamichi has its own style, set in 1968, a turbulent year for the world and Japan. Anime fans will find that like the music, the ...

  • Kids on the Slope leaves you wishing for more...
This anime was one of the best I have watched. I loved the animation, the story and the music. I only wished it had not ended. I cried, I laughed . It was a heart warming story. All I can say is I wish there had been more episodes.

  • Enjoyable show, enjoyable music
This was a fun anime to watch and is a good summer anime. I enjoyed the music of the show as much as I enjoyed the characters. I wish they had developed some of the lesser characters a little more, such as Richie's cousin. Who is she?

They ending was a little sad but in a good way.

  • Only one word needed
The main characters were ones that I could relate too. The subtle plot twists were engaging and heart breaking. Finally, a show full of substance and an ending that did the series justice. It was absolutely FANTASTIC

  • Classy, deep, emotional. and real.
And the freakin' music is totally jammin'! ........

134 more characters? What do they want me to do, give away the plot? Well, I ain't going to do it.. and don't expect me to write any more reviews if this is the hassle I have to deal with.

  • Kids on the Slope is perfect.
I have no complaints, other than that I would have been okay with more episodes, more music, more time to get to know the characters. When the worst thing about a series is that there isn't enough of it, you know that you've found something good.

So the plot and characters are subtly written and carefully developed, this show is all about nuance and it nails it every episode. The music is ...

  • Simply jazzy, awesome and beautiful
Everything about this anime is awesome and beautiful. This much anticipated anime has lived up to the anticipation. IT's just got that thing that I feel anime has been missing. heart and soul.

If you haven't already realized it, once you get to episode episode 7, and at about the 16:45 mark to the end of the episode, you realize how awesome this anime actually is. I could watch that scene over ...

  • THE BEST ANIME EVER!!!!!!
Nothing but pure greatness if you love romance, drama, comedy and music genre's combined into a well put together anime I'd give it 3 thumbs up but I only have 2 hands. Very good music. The jazz added a nice touch and the development and bonds between 2 friends keeps you coming back for more. I don't normally buy anime's but will definitely have to buy this when it comes out.

  • So far, my favorite this spring
Here is this season's josei title, a high-school historical drama about friendship, romance, and music. The realistic, but gentle animation is a pleasure to watch, the jazz ensembles get you feelin' the swing, and and the characters take you on a fun emotional joyride.

OK, there's not much of this series out at the moment, but so far it's the series I most look forward to seeing episode ...
