    Absolutely beautiful
I don't even remember how I came across this anime but as a fan of Music based animes I added it to my qeue. On a whim I decided to watch the first episode and see how I felt. I finished it in one sitting. I loved every episode. I cried a lot. *****

  • Stunning Music Anime
One of my top 25 anime somewhat simple but very powerful and immersive. From early on you develop a connection to the characters and once they start working together and getting to know each other it becomes amazing. What happens when you see what trails they pull through and how the characters evolve is wonderful. After watching and even during I've grown a fondness for Jazz which I didn't ...

  • Kids on the Slope - Beautiful and Touching
On a cold rainy morning I am listening to a Kids on The Slope playlist on Spotify and it is sublime (there are two but you can't go wrong really). This Anime was set in post World War II Japan about three high school students that spend a lot of time playing and obsessing over jazz music. The kids alternate between facing and running from their demons but the best part was they took it out not ...

  • The must watch anime!
It is rare to find a show that is so pure and honest with it's story. The movement and flow, the music and color, everything takes you for a ride that you never want to get off. Even so, when it finally ends, you can't help but smile as you find your heart warmed by the efforts made by the entire staff behind this show. From top to bottom, you can tell that there was a considerable amount of ...

  • The ending made me cry, but they were tears of joy!
I've watched a lot of anime, and only one other (Planetes) has evoked this emotional reaction from me. To think I could get this attached to characters in just 12 episodes! Extremely well written, great music, superb animation, even the background art is stunning. I would highly recommend Kids on the Slope to anyone, whether they're a fan of anime or not. Easily in my top three of all time. Time ...

If Cowboy Bebop is a masterpiece, what do we call this?
Where can I even begin to describe this show? Well, this is Shinichiro Watanabe's most recent work. In my opinion, it is his best. Why? The show lets Watanabe do what he loves the most: let the characters be the stars of the show. Most of his work (Cowboy Bebop, Macross Plus, etc.) revolves more around the characters interacting before that is interrupted by the plot. Kids on the Slope has those ...

Easily one of the best anime on crunchyroll!!
I usually don't give reviews for the anime I watch, but after watching this I felt I had to write something. This anime is something that I will remember for many many years. I don't really want to give away anything about this story because it's really original and believable! If you are wanting to watch something that will make you smile and relax this is the anime for you.

  • Jazzy Slice of Life!
Yoko Kanno's involvement with the music of this series is what reeled me in. The characters and their developing relationships make you want to stay to the very end.

If only my life could have a jazzy Yoko Kanno soundtrack.

A Fantastic Coming of Age Series and a Must Watch!
As a fan of Watanabe's previous works, such as Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, I'm almost ashamed to say that I was not aware that this series even existed (or the manga)! It wasn't until my girlfriend and I saw Shinichirō Watanabe at a panel at Otakon last month in which he spoke briefly about it that we heard of Kids on the Slope for the first time.

Talk about timing! I just set up an ...
