    First Impressions (Episodes 1 + 2)
Kotoura-san as of Ep. 2 is a strange and interesting creature. On one hand it's an emotional drama and on the other it's a gag comedy. Both of these aspects help to create a very "unique" atmosphere while overall not exactly being unique on it's own. Kotoura-San is the epitome of the phrase "greater than the sum of it's parts" as it doesn't really introduce anything new to the genre, but still ...

    Just read the review.
The first half of the episode got me planting my hand on my chest, as it was so sad, I even started tearing up a bit. Being teased by classmates over and over again for hearing what they're thinking, and now knowing you're not supposed to say it out loud. Eventually the secrets of their parents were no longer secrets and she knew their parents were lying and told the truth. She was abandoned and ...

    Completely fools you at first!
Man...when I was watching the first 10 minutes of this anime, I went from "Oh wow she's cool" to "Oh dang that's messed up" to "OMG NOOOOOOOOO!" And then started to feel really depressed and angry at the world.... Until a silly, carefree man shows up in her life.

As I have said in my title, the show misleads you into thinking the anime is sad as hell, but it completely does a 180 on you and ...

    after watching episode 1
this sad story in the beginning is going to be a great setup for the rest of the season.
typical boy meets girl or vise versa but with a twist. i cant wait for the rest of the season. i just hope there are more twists when the season progresses. something to do with why her grandpa is not there, or her mother or father coming back into it

    AWWWWWW, Sad then Cute!!!
To be honest, the beginning was really depressing, but the 2nd half made up for it all!! Take 23 minutes of your time and watch the first episode! IT'S WORTH IT! =D I can't wait to watch the rest of it! A very encouraging start!!

Just have to wait and see what they turn this into, looks promising for the first ep.
For now, it looks pretty promising, although the start was sad, but I think that's good for the entire story's sake. Will just have to see how it goes. I really hope they don't ruin this anime, oh well, I guess we just have to wait and see.

Sad, Funny, heart warming all in one package
This anime's first episode was shockingly sad in the beginning .. heart breaking actually .. but has a surprising twist... talk about night and day..
it makes you cry..makes your heart fall to pieces..... then from the middle till the end .. makes you laugh and feel warm and fuzzy inside...
    I definately will watch this...

Amazing and interesting! Good story line, for people who likes romance with comedy.
Haruka Kotoura, a girl who was born with the ability to read minds, has often been shunned and alone due to her ability causing trouble for others. After transferring to a new high school, she meets Yoshihisa Manabe, a dim-witted boy who resolves to stay by her side. Together, they join their school's ESP Research Club.

    Recycled Jokes and Lackluster Story.
Kotoura-San, the slice of life comedy romance with a seemly dark underlying tone. This is what I thought I was getting watching the first ten minutes, but that's not at all what this turned out to be. Could you imagine a comedy series where someone told the same joke over and over again? Because that's what you get here. Almost every joke has to do with Kotoura-San using her mind reading powers to ...

Starts unbelievably strong, ends unbelievably weak.
It was either 3 or 2 stars and I decided to take the harsh route, and I will fully explain why. I know I'll get the famed "0 of 123211 readers found this helpful" tagged right above but it's worth it to get the honest and blatant truth out about this anime. This review involves spoilers as I will touch on major plot elements (I call them plot "failings") as a resource for my opinions.
