Well done on breaking the mold of k drama. So glad to see a drama that shows winning a Cheabol's son is not the dream come true so many typical dramas portray. I love how this drama shows the relationship people have with money and the character flaws that come with greed. I want to encourage writers, producers and directors to create more dramas that make the viewers examine our hearts for wrong attitudes and question our motivations.
One criticism, I feel it romanticizes suicide. Korea unfortunately has one of the highest suicide rates in the world and I'm glad that it touched on the issue of suicide as it is problem in Korean society. BUT... they should have demonstrated a healthier response to the suicidal characters. Love can make us crazy at times, but I think each one of the four main characters demonstrated just plain mental illness. JoonSoo had a whole list of psychological issues starting with abandonment issues, schizophrenia, probably bipolar and more. Two women fell in love with him? Really? JoonSoo sold himself for years doing anything for money. He allowed himself to be vicitmized and tormented. Let rapes slide... and then we're supposed to think he's a good guy? Character matters. I want to see a k drama that celebrates high moral character over money, fame or looks.
One element typical in kdrama that I was sooooo happy to see mostly missing from LDV - the master manipulative woman. Dahae verged on that a times and I was a little disappointed when her character started behaving like that. I wanted to route for her, but started to dislike her character towards the end and just wanted to see her leave for Paris.
I like how it also touched on the double standards of how people view cheating by men and women. A three year affair is OK, but a one night stand is unforgivable. How people use money to control other people. What people will do for money. All very thought provoking. Well done!

This is a very different k drama, no one gets cancer or losses memory. I dont know if it was the director's choice but Lee Dong Wook's acting is over the top to my taste,Also his personal appearance for this drama is terrible, the mustache and that horrible haircut didn't help . Oh Yeon-Su is great also the rest of the cast.
The drama is very addictive, but it's too long with very repetitive scenes..Very modern story line, also It's nice to see a dog in a k series.
The ending is cheesy and too classic for a modern show like this. But i was not dissapointed.
Music very good..

Are you really “crazy in love”? Could you throw everything away (your family, your kids, your career) to maintain it? How deep does your love run? How far are you willing to push the limits…would it be worth sacrificing your life over?
La Dolce Vita isn’t a simple drama by any means. The writer and director challenge you to start thinking right when the opening scene is set. Someone committed suicide…what made them do it? Was it really suicide? What drove this character to do it? Money? Love? Or something darker? We rewind 6 months to where it all began and slowly all the characters come into play. Each of their layers is peeled back and you fall deeper into the characters as the show progresses. You learn who they are, how they live, how they love and what their deepest desires are. And what caused them to change.
La Dolce Vita is a dark, intimate, emotionally complex and intense drama. It offers no apologies, psychologically or emotionally. The actors all did a decent job with their roles, but for me they weren’t the biggest attraction of the drama. The director does a great job setting the dark mood of the story with beautiful scenery and an emotional OST. In that sense, the writer and the director really compliment each other. Little details were important and they kept me analyzing, questioning, and trying to predict the outcome of this story. La Dolce Vita had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I don’t regret watching this drama at all, even though it doesn’t offer any straightforward answers nor does it give you that warm fuzzy feeling. I appreciate the ugliness that was explored in this drama.
I’d definitely recommend watching La Dolce Vita with no hesitation. I’d rate it 10/10 and I’m tempted to say that this is one of the finest dramas I've watched in terms of production, writing, directing and musical score.

This has to be one of the best dramas I have ever watched and I plan on watching it again. I liked everything about this movie, the storyline is different from other dramas. It is the kind of drama that will make you examine your own life and how you treat others. The acting was superb and I believe this has one of the best music scores that I have ever heard. Please watch it with an open mind. Kudos to the director.

A very sophisticated drama written, directed and acted by adults, for adults. It is not the usual Cinderella-type of K-drama. And, it is not a drama that one can watch while multi-tasking. In order to fully taste all the flavors in each episode, one must watch with attention and focus.
The storyline is brilliantly written. The direction of each episode is excellent. The cinematography is fantastic. The soundtrack is wonderful. The acting by the four main actors is superb.
Although it is a 'dark' story, it is also a story with light and goodness, which is the last note that is played, at the end. So, at the end, I was not sad, but accepting of the finale.
