So, I was finally bullied into checking out Absolute Boyfriend by my friend, and decided to watch the drama since I like two of the actors in it already. Honestly, the plot's concept seemed so shallow, which is why I did avoid this for so long. Anyways, this was actually an enjoyable and cute show! Nothing to write home about, but a solid show nonetheless.

So I admit the reason I started watching this drama was because of Hiro Mitzushima but I ended falling in love with it. Yes, the story is a bit out there because one of the main characters is a robot. I actually wasn’t into the whole robot concept at first but then Night ended up growing on me. He wasn’t just acting like the perfect boyfriend but later on it’s hard not to love him because he shows the emotions and actions necessary in a love partner and that was the goal or what the drama wanted to portray. I personally feel like they nailed it. The girl Rikko is also very cute and played her role well. Even without all the kissing and physical contact you can still see the love between the characters and that’s rare. Overall, I liked the characters, plot and the love story. I cried in the end but that just made me realize that the characters played their role well especially Hayami Mokomichi. Furthermore, the drama made a love between a human and robot actually feel real so they got the results they wanted; well, at least from me anyways. In other words, I definately would recommend this drama.

SPOILER ALERT!

Not many things make me emotional. Some of the only movies I've cried during where Grave of the Fireflies, Marly & Me, and Koizora, so you should know something is special when it rouses me emotionally.

Overall I believe the drama was hugely successful in what it set out to do. I think it was almost as good (if not better) than the manga. Of course it had it's changes such as Soshi being a Co-president of a desert company instead of a chef(?) and never knowing Riiko until by chance in his office.
Also Riiko was a little more stingy in the drama than in the books. She was so mean (I thought) LOL. The drama wasn't as sexually explicit as the books (which is to be expected)

Night totally grows on you as the episodes go on. At first he's just a blinking robot (dur) that's very stiff but then by the end that's what makes him endearing <3

And when the scene of Night looking at the scarf and the screen blacks out is when the floodgates opened for me.

All in all, a very contenting drama. It'll make you laugh, cry, yell and shake your computer and scream "WHY!!?? " as a good drama should. I recommend this drama to any and all, young and old, primate non-primate. You will enjoy this drama.

(Sorry for the crappy review, I just don't want to give too much away. If I gushed to much the drama would have been ruined lol Mianhamnida!)

Well I think this drama is def. a awesome drama. One of the best out there. A original! Absolute Boyfriend is very funny and exciting it leads you to think that sometimes love doesn't always have to come from someone who's real, but it can really be just anything even a robot. The characters really do match the storyline and the acting is great! You feel what she feels towards Night, yet you understand what she still feels for Soshi. So good! I could watch this over and over again. I wish there was a next part. And of course if you haven't read the manga, please do. I totally recommend it! Overall I give this all 5 stars! It deserves all it can get.

Well i enjoyed it, specially the character of Night-kun who is always tender, playful, funny and lovely but i got to say that in so many ways wasnt that good, even more if you compare it to the manga which actually for the first time, was a manga which made me cry,Even so, if you are looking for romance, laughs and a little of bitching then you should totally watch this.

Zettai Kareshi or Absolute Boyfriend is a is one those unusual love story. Having a robot boyfriend is really weird. Even though it's kind of pathetic and absurd, Night is a passionate guy in actuality. Not to mention the looks and exceptional abilities, he tried his best to show his 'love' for riiko. Even though he is programmed to do such things, he exceeded his limitations as a robot and did sweet thing for riiko that every guy should really look up to. All in all, it is actually nice. The ending really made me want to cry. It is one of those must see series. Although i first saw it in my source as manga.
