Overview
Chrono Crusade (クロノ クルセイド, Kurono Kuruseido?), known as Chrno Crusade in Japan, Singapore, Germany, France, Australia and Estonia, is an eight volume manga series authored by the Japanese mangaka Daisuke Moriyama. It was originally published by Kadokawa Shoten in Monthly Dragon Magazine which began serialization in November 1998. A 24-episode anime television series based on the manga ran from 2003 to 2004 on Fuji TV. The animation work was done by Gonzo. The series was released in North America by ADV Manga and ADV Films, titled Chrono Crusade.

Set in the United States during the 1920s, Chrono Crusade follows the story of Rosette Christopher, and her demon partner Chrono. As members of the Magdalene Order, they travel around the country eliminating demonic threats to society, while Rosette searches for her lost brother Joshua.

Aion is the Leader of a group of Renegade devils called the Sinners. He is seen as a anti-hero rather then an antagonist.

Sinner Aion's goal is to reverse the balance of Heaven and Hell, in order to create a world to his liking. All though he is seen as uncaring towards his followers, he actually cares deeply for them and does not wish to see them get hurt but will sacrifise them if needed to reach his goal.

Aion is rather cunning and sly, not showing his face until much later on in the series. He uses a bald eagle to comminucate with others, rather then being there himself. He can also make copies of himself as seen in his first meeting with Azmaria in Central Park.

Aion often refers to himself as the Alpha and Omega (begining and end)

His personality is rather different in the anime then in the manga. In the manga he is more of a gentleman and does not seem interested in the oppossite sex unlike in the anime where he seduces women and seems to enjoy kissing Rosette (though it is very likely he is only doing this to provoke Chrono). It also implied that he raped Satella when a devil worshipper summoned him and presented Satella as a sacrifise.
