Air Gear

The story line is pretty basic, bad boy finds a sport he gets into and actually is really good at it. It’s so basic that I can just tell that everything will come out alright and it would surprise me if it wasn’t. Frankly, I don’t know if I really want to watch too much of it even if it’s only 25 shows. I never really got into any type of sports shows and this one doesn’t really change my mind. I may only watch it to one of my favorite characters shows up but that’s it.
The animation is pretty nicely done; it’s normally hard to say anything bad for something done in the age of computer animation now although it does happen. There are a couple things that make this look a little tacky though. The extra 3D animation that is sometimes put in. Its fine when they are going tech on us about the diagrams but when they use it for the world and some of the air tricks like using a tank and stuff, it’s really bothersome. Also when they go realistic on some things like food, it just takes away from the show. There is a hell of a lot of fan service as well, especially when there are a ton of girls in this. Just counting Ikki’s family, there are 4 and then you count all the other girls… Now unlike in the show, the ending live animation is pretty good in a sense, though with how shaky it is, it feels a bit like FLCL’s, only luckily without the odd cutting.
The music is just ok, not really the best but feels like normal slice of life style, even when it gets into air treks and it feels kind of sad that happens. I would have really liked a bit more upbeat then what’s there. The opening sounds a lot like Bleach which throws me off a bit. The English voices are alright, though I’m really not sure about some of the voices. It’s just odd, though luckily, most of the main cast is actually pretty good. No one really wants me to scratch my ears out and the only one that I have trouble with is Hillary Haag who plays Shiraume Nayamano, also known as Ume, and I think its because she has had her voice in a lot of other shows and I hear more of the other characters rather then Ume’s own voice. Chris Patton is a perfect Ikki though and somewhat makes up for Hillary’s voice, since he is the main character. Chris is good with the bad boys pretty much and has a pretty good cross between funny and bad ass.

Air Gear, I read the title, I wasn't sure, but I thought I'd give it a try, and I'm glad I did.

A brieve intoduction of the Anime
It is in the presence, and the youth is going wild, because there is a new invention, Rollerblades that have a little more machinery in them than ordinary ones. You can jump higher, further and feel a little like you're flying.
The main Character is Ikki, whos 15 years old and lives with girls together, family friends. He is one of the coolest and strongest boys in the school with the nickname "Babyface", but he realises that there are stronger people out there, the "Storm Riders".

Storyline
If you watch it or you've already seen it, you will realise that Air Gear finishes in quite an annoying part. To be honest, I'm a bigger fan of the Manga the story is just amazing. What I like about it, that the kids make up they're own philosophy about "Air Tecks" whis is the name of the Rollerblades. (Shortcut AT's)
They associate it with flying, being free. They say that everybody was born with wings and so these will help you to fly higher with AT's.
Why AT's exist and stories like that are in the Manga but sadly not in the Anime. I like the association with the sky, because you can compare everything they say with you're own life, at some point. (you need to have a lot of fantasy in your head to do that)
It is not only about racing with AT's, there are battles, Gangs, win, and Loss. Everything young people need to feel alive. But danger as well, you will see that riding AT's is not a piece of cake. But as well, Ikki and his friends have a lot of fun, many Episodes made me laugh.
By the Wat, I try on pupose not to tell too much about the story, that always annoys me when I reas Reviews.

Music
I really enjoy the music in Air Gear, It is a little funky, and fits perfectly in the style of the Anime. The Music is played in the right scene.
I downloaded the music because I really liked it.

Characters
Every character in Air Gear is different, and they have all a different road. You will see that everybody fights fot their own reasons and have their own way of dealing with things. The road one takes shows the personality one has.
They talk about the background of many characters so that one understands them better, which I really liked.

Animation
i think the animation is alright. there isn't a lot of effort in it, but then again they did a good job. Every Character looks different and has their details. What I like is that some of the, the girls especially, don't wear the same clothes every time. Apart of their school uniform.
Sometimes it seems like there is nobody on the streets apart of the main chatacters which makes it look quite odd sometimes. But I think you can ignore that.

Overall
I love Air Gear because of different factors, I recommend you to read the Manga it is amazing. The Anime helped me to have my first sight on Air Gear which made me continue to follow it.
My favorite bit of it is the philosophy behind AT's, i love how they make their own little world, and give it so much importance. Im make me daydream a little more and think about it. Especially in the Manga the explanation of the philosophy gets really intense. I think there is more behind it than some kids jumping around with rollerblades. It is about the wind and the sky that can bring you wherever you want.

Like i said Air gear need more episodes anime good story but come on! just 25 ep is just Sad! Hope they come with a good season im looking foward to see it. i even started to read the manga even i don't like to read.

Air Gear is what I like to call awesome sauce!!! I just thought it is one of the best anime's out there. People are going to either love this or hate it. This anime has a deeper story than one would actually imagine. At first one would think that this was another sport anime whose story revolves around competitions and tournaments. But you only guessed a portion right. To the fans of this anime I highly suggest to read the manga. The manga is still on going, but it just delves deeper into the world of AT's. There is a wicked sense of humour prevalent throughout the anime, and the frequent crude jokes will definitely get a laugh out of you.

The art and animation is very consistent throughout. There are a lot of battles where the tension and the excitement is aptly captured. However, I don't think the animation was bad, the battle scenes were a little hard to follow. They could of done a better job overall. On the other hand the story has you so pumped that it barely noticeable.

I thought the music was amazing. It did drown out some of the vocals or other sound effects, but it was effectively executed.

Air Gear suffers from the basic flaw of most mainstream anime, "Incomplete Manga-to-Anime Conversion". It does though give you an incentive to read the manga. Air gear is undoubtedly FUN. The show fulfills it's premise, as in, it provides solid original concepts and some breath-taking entertainment. Definitely Recommended...

Ikki Minami used to live with his sisters and his childhood friend, Sango. Actually, Sango and Ikki’s sisters hide a big secret to him. When he finally now the truth, Sango keep the real secret. To keep her relation to Ikki and to dodge brotherhood fight.

The story start by showing Ikki as loser among street gangster. The gangster, Skull Saders use AT (Air Treks) to bully Ikki, they almost killed him. Meanwhile he felt depressed “if only I have those special-shoes”, every evening day he sat on big pipes and watching sailor-uniform girl flying with her air treks. Ikki and Sango once see the girl together, that’s the time Ikki decided to enter Air Treks world, using her sister AT. His first move: challenge the Skull Saders.

Ikki found the fun of using AT, he felt like flying, the wind and himself became one. With his friends, Kazu, Onigiri, Buccha, and Agito they decided to form Storm Rider group, KOGARASUMARU (Black Crow). Since they’re new group, they started as F rank. Defeat 3 groups in same rank, then level up to E rank. They almost lost their group, glad Sango help them even though she hide her true-self. The biggest challenge is to defeat Behemoth, the biggest D rank but full of A rank storm riders. For Agito himself, the battle same important as his live.
The biggest victory among storm riders, name of Ikki Minami now became well-known. Kogarasumaru’s victory made Simca to announce unexpected declaration. Simca, the swallow, with her team, re-group as New Genesis and join with Kogarasumaru, Ikki chosen to be the leader. New Genesis itself are the biggest group with the member all over Japan, now they under newbie group E rank, Kogarasumaru.

Although, Ikki have been treated like the leader, he’s not officially became leader. He have to be accepted by co-leader of New Genesis in every district in Japan. At the same time, he and others had school trip to same place as co-leader’s place. Co-leader there quite strict and prefer to disagree with Ikki as leader. So here the challenge: flying on your friends, which in total 33,3 meter length.

I bet there another anime episode, too bad I could only watch 25 episodes. In manga, this series far away from what I have watched. The Trick 25 would be the last trick you’d see in this anime series.

I basically love Air Gear. So what if I rated it PG-13.. It still showed perserverance and passion. I liked the story line, because it was all about skating or whatever in air and it was totally cool. If I had something like that I would totally be happy by then. But you should totally watch this anime because it is a great anime.

First of all let me just say THIS is one of the best anime's ever, and I don't actually enjoy a lot of anime, yet I've watched quite a few. I don't know what is was that hooked me onto this but whatever they did it worked. If you love action, awesome skating[inline], ridiculous humor, and just a pinch of drama than this is the show you need to be watching now! Too bad there isn't a second season yet, but I am still waiting for it. The character's are all different and they stand out in their own obnoxious, arrogant, and perverted way. I will need to finishing up quick because I will just ramble on and on about how great this anime is! But if you watch the entire season 1 and want to know what happens next I suggest reading the Manga, although you must start from the very beginning because the Anime is different from the Manga, I should know I am reading currently and it is better than the anime so far. The thing that makes the anime better than the manga is he music, the music is what sets/makes the mood at the perfect time which makes the scenes at that moment more exciting and quite enjoyable, if you watch it I hope then you'll understand what I mean. If you can't decide whether to watch it or not then here....JUST WATCH THE SHOW!
