Ariel is an Archangel name (see 'Other' section below) from the Hebrew 'Lion of God'. Archangel Ariel is known as the Angel of Healing and New Beginnings. In English, Ariel is pronounced, "air-ee-ul"; in Hebrew and Indo-European languages it is pronounced, "ah-ree-el."
