Yeah, that's strange for me.
But somehow I feel like this movie opened up the wonders of child-rearing.
Stranger yet, it was because it was not a typical story. It was not "Oh, a darling child. Allow me to shower love and baubles all over it. And they lived happily ever after."
Instead, this story decided to showcase the more difficult aspects of it: trying to putting the child's needs before your own, the difficulty of raising a child alone, the hardship in being a young parent. It really helps the viewer see the love involved in raising a child.
But it was still funny. The jokes were well-placed and generally in good taste.
The main actor's performance was really endearing. He played the part very well.
I was just really pleasantly surprised by the characters and the plotline and just the whole shebang.
I will confess, however, that I thought the voice-over of the child was a horrible idea. The baby did not need to express its thoughts; it broke up the flow of many different scenes.
