I liked the animations a lot, very rich and detailed. :)) I also liked some of the characters, especially the pirates; they were hilarious! xD The storyline was nice and the music was very fitting. Overall, this was a good movie!

I'm not usually one for watching things more than once, even if I like them, but some films require more than one viewing just to appreciate the sheer depth and beauty of the thing. Castle in the sky is definitely one of these. While the story is a typical adventure tale (think Indiana Jones as a teen aged mechanic) the visual detail, breathtaking score and loveable (or hateable) characters make this one more than just "good".

Storyline: The storyline isn't one of the most innovative in the world: Boy meets girl, boy gets swept up in adventure, boy's life is changed forever, but it is delivered in a satisfying way, with just the right mix of exposition and excitement. I especially liked the fact that this film, unlike your typical Myazaki production, actually has a real villain. I tend to get very frustrated when there's no one for me to get mad at, so it was nice to be able to vent some of the pent up nervous energy that the exciting chase scenes always build up so wonderfully in me.

Music: The music was excellently managed by the same guy who did Nausicaa (and a fair number of other films I believe) and always complimented whatever scene I was watching perfectly. I have no complaints here, other than perhaps my usual one that movie soundtracks don't hold themselves in very good stead outside the actually movie viewing experience.

Characters: The characters are all great, even down to the faceless soldiers in the army, each one with his own personality and his own way of showing his evil or his greed. Particularly honorable mentions go to Mark Hamill for his maniacal laugh and to Cloris Leachman for her cantankerousness.

Animation: Far and away the best and most impressive feature of this film. Every time I watch this movie I see something new. The rich visuals are always interesting, and every wide shot has so much going on that you feel overwhelmed trying to keep up with all the detail. To watch this film is to be swept up in the adventure in every way, physically and emotionally, and you'll love every minute of it, so don't miss out!

so amazing, i love it!

This movie is simply amazing! The artwork is beautiful, the characters are so cool, and it's one heck of a movie! My favorite character is Sheeta.
She's strong, independent, and beautiful. I also like Pazu. He's brave, smart, and handsome. : . )
