A historical, martial arts saga inspired by Spartacus, Chess Warriors details the symbolic bout for power between the emperors of Chinese and Mongolia in a fight for fortresses and riches. Rather than resorting to bloody warfare, however, both emperors agreed to resolve the conflict in a human war game of Chinese chess, using real life warriors as chess pieces and eliminating them via Gladiator-style fights. As China’s emperor sustains stunning loss and evades the subsequent assassination attempts, his remaining two “chess warriors” vow for a rematch with the Mongolians as they refine their fighting skills.
