Corkus

Corkus is perhaps the most arrogant, cynical, and abrasive personality amongst the Band of the Hawk in addition to being one of the lower ranking officers. He has been with the Band since it's inception making him one of the most long standing members, prior to joining he claims to have lead a small group of thieves that saw some limited success. He sees himself as being the most loyal and valuable lieutenant to Griffith and because of this takes an immediate dislike to Guts who he makes a few half-hearted attempts to kill after he joins the Hawks. Despite that he is actually a competent unit commander quite capable of seeing past his personal dislikes and is more than willing to do whatever is necessary to help Griffith realize his ambitions. It is perhaps the greatest tragedy of his life that despite this fierce dedication he is never truly trusted by his leader or seen as more than a "good soldier".
