I thought this would be intresting and different.

HOW DID YOU BECOME THE FAN YOU ARE TODAY OF DONG BANG SHIN KI?

Ok here it is, tell your story (weather it is long or short) on how you became a fan of our boys DBSK. It has to be your story. Now some people will tell a simple story, and thats alright, and others will tell a sad story but please don't bash anyone for their story. For some it might be personal but we would appreciate it if you told us how you became a fan. This should help those who love and adore this group become friends with other fans here on CR.

I will also tell my story as well so please, explain to us all how you became a fan!

Well, here I go!!
Actually, I was a fan of Morning Musume, a japanese girl's group, and I was looking for videos of them on HEYX3! (Funny program!! xDD). And then, when I was watching on one of these videos, I saw at the right of the page some videos related to the one I was seeing. :D
It caught my attention one that said "Yunho imitating Yakkun"!!! And then I saw it and nearly died of laughter xDDDDD
Then I went looking for more and more videos and now...!!!

I'm a fan xDDDD

If you want to see the video is right here!!! (It's actually part of the whole conversation )

Have fun!!!

Ok! Well my story is actually a sad and personal story so please bare with me.

It all started in the year of 2007, after my fiance Cpl. Mark Ryan C. Caguioa passed away May 24th. After he had passed away, I went into a depression. A dark abyss in which I was falling into with each day, and I become less social to the people around me. I really couldnt careless at the time what was infront of me. My world had pretty much had died and gone dark. It wasnt untill August that my friend had dragged me out of my house to visit her so she could show me two singing groups. When she opened a window on her laptop, she showed me to 13 guys, hot guys but no matter what I wasnt breaking out of my dark world. I told her they were intresting and they could sing but I really didnt seem intrested. She then began to tell me of this group called DBSK, I listened but still didnt care for I wanted to live out my life by being dead to the world. She told me to look them up one day so I just kept it in mind in the back of my head.
One day after being bored at work, I called my friend and asked her what the name of the group she told me to look up. She then began to tell me that they were called DBSK and that I should watch the MV of 'Balloons'. Well I typed in DBSK but I did not look for the MV 'Balloons', no instead I let youtube work it's magic by showing me everything it had for DBSK. At the time, the first MV that caught my eye was 'Rising Sun'. Too me, it had this dark look which caught my attention seeing how I was depressed for many months, mourning after my fiance's death. After I clicked the MV I began to watch it and soon enough, I became intrested in the vid and the boys. I began to look them up more and more. I feel inlove with their songs, their voices and them. I loved how they made me smile, made me laugh. 'She havnt smiled like that in a long time!' people would say. Soon I became a fan and to this day, I am and will always be a fan of DBSK! Now for extra, The song that means alot to me is 'Rising Sun' since it is the first song I heard from them but the one that describes how they seemed to touch my heart is 'Love In The Ice'. Because of DBSK, I have been pulled out of the dark abyss that settled inside my broken heart, and they have put the pieces together so that I may heal ane learn to love again, and for that, I will always be their fan.

i found out about them a couple of months after their debut from my cousins....they've always been into kpop...i even remember when they told me that boa was going to debut, i dont really care for kpop.
i liked to listen to it, but didnt know much about the artist.
my cousins insisted that i listen to them...so they gave me their first single..and i heard 'Whatever they say' and fall in love their voices...after that i saw 'Hug' MV i thought they were so cute and different from other music groups that i've seen...after that i became a fan..and still am...i'll continue supporting them as long as they keep giving me wonderful music to listen to.

well, here goes (it is a very long and winding journey...lol):
When I was really little I used to watch Card Captors Sakura, and last year I realized I'd never seen the end of the show, so...I watched it, then decided to find some other anime to watch, which led me to Hana Yori Dango.
Then I realized there was a Japanese live version, then a Tawainese version...this is how I found Vic Zhou
I started watching all of Zai Zai's dramas, which included Silence. I thought Park Eun Hye was cute, so I looked up K-dramas and found Full House
I liked Rain, so I watched his dramas and performances, and then one day on youtube, I saw a video of Xiah Junsu dancing to a Rain song...
I looked up the group, watched a few of their live Japanese performances, and it was love at first sight....
Saranghae DBSK!!!

Its ok! Because of DBSK I have relized that things happen for a reason and I just know that they were meant to help me through my darkest time!! It has almost been two years since his death and only a year and a half being a fan of DBSK! As long as DBSk is around, I will support them since they helped me in a way that they have no idea!

Well, when i was really young my mom love to watch korean drama (but not anymore anyways back to my point) and i try to force myself to watch korean drama and they are so boring (no offense). So i never had any interest in korean stuff so whenever i come across korean stuff i would wonder what is so good about them they are boring. but one day i was super bored and i went on crunchy there was no chinese drama to watch and no good songs to listen to. So you know when you click music on crunchyroll there used to be a popular music and the top searched singers. it was news that was the top singers so i click on them and there song doesnt motivate me and change my opion on korean people (i think news is japanese but i cant tell the difference) so i never ever listen to one korean song or anything i thought it was just dumb. my friend click this big bang group and btw many of my classmates are like listening to them so i listen to big bang they were aiight but in my head i was like oh what a american-wannabe lol sorry (but im not anti that was when i was little okays.) anyways one year later dbsk mv rising sun was on crunchy's popular music and i was wondering if it was gonna be good it looks interesting i clicked on it. that click change my point of view on korean people. it was like a suprise click. i listen to there mv it was so good. omg. i went google them up but i had lil complains about the singer all i thought was this... xiah is ugly, changmin was like a giant, micky is i dont know how to describe, jaejoong to girlish and uknow he was HOT! but then as i search them up more they werent was bad as i thought they were. so never judge people by there apperance like what they say about book dont judge the book by the cover judge what is in the book. Now im obssesed with DBSK they are like my favorite i come to DBSK page everyday to see new uploads and pictures. Now since i change my point of view of koreans and DBSK this is what i thought about them now... changmin is so so so cute, jaejoong is sexy, uknow is so damn hot, xiah is weird, and micky is just funny!!!

Hmm lets see...my brother told me I have to watch this mv with this"korean boyband dance" it was the mirotic dance verison. Anywho at first we thought it was pretty funny but I really liked the song. I like Se7en and SS501 so I figured I would look up DBSK and now I am hooked.
My family likes to tease me about it but who cares, I tell them I'm learning a new language haha. And these boys are always so funny and make me laugh so I love to watch them. I'm driving my brother crazy now with how much I talk about them .

For me, it started when I was 13 and I had a classmate who was WAY crazy over them. At that time, I was mainly interested in Chinese entertainment, so I used to laugh at her obsession. I remember that she had lots of photos of them, and I thought that their hairstyles were really weird - the only one I remembered at that time was Jaejoong because he looked like a girl the most. Then, after a year or so, I was browsing Crunchyroll's music section, and DBSK's group seemed the most prominent one (maybe cos my classmate talked so much about them). Since at that time I was already starting to love the Korean culture (though mostly dramas at that point in time), I decided to check them out and see what was so good about them. I vaguely remember watching their 'Forever Love' MV first, and I was like 'Whoa, I never knew guys could sing that well!', because honestly, the Taiwanese boybands are all quite mediocre. I started getting interested because they were so talented, and after watching a few variety shows, I could see why my classmate loves them so They were so funny, cute and talented!
Haha, I still remember that at first, I liked Changmin the most because he looked so demure and shy next to his hyungs, and I thought Junsu looked like some rich spoilt boy. Now, I just can't get enough of Junsu! (And DBSK, of course)

This is from a sentimental guy's account. Bear with me OK?

I think I first saw them during December of '03, probably only a few days after they debuted. As a guy their particular appearance brought about a L M A O

Their debut wasn't anything special, I always though Brittney was whack, even back than. BOA, I was neutral with but she wasn't the reason I stuck around to finish the performance.

It was their a Capella. At that time it was middle school year and I was sick of everything, rather moody and I just wanted to be left alone. But DBSK was a group of 5 and the way they blended together made me feel calm.

but I didn't really know their "name" because the vid was uploaded with Korean text.

Sometime later, a female friend of mine let me listen to a CD of a Korean band named the "Trax". I remember liking a song and I told her I liked the vocal parts but not when they went crazy screaming. Anybody wanna guess what song it was?

My friend forced me to watch "Paradox", which I liked but the group's overall genre wasn't my thing. I was enough of an angry child on my own. But still I liked "their" first song I listened to and borrowed the CD.

So to make things short, I fitted the puzzle pieces together and discovered DBSK.

The thing I liked most about them as their friendship. I had zero interest in mindless middle school pressures and dramas so I felt a little out of place. All I wanted was true friendship, the kind DBSK showed.

I've watched them mature personally and professionally (hahaha just how old do I think I am?), over the course of five years and feel that they are more real than people who I sit next to everyday in class.

Hero never came accross as vain, just dorky and I could read him like a book. Junsu was a passionate duck. Yunho was a fuzzy panda in disguise, but most people forget he is a panda bear. Micky, I misunderstood him back than but now I know he's a mischievous, caring older brother. Changmin, I could directly relate to his reserved attitude but dry witty sense of humor. Looking at his expressions, you can tell he knows how to read between the lines whenever the members speak. He wants everyone to be happy so he doesn't mind letting his hyungs get the spotlight.

In a sense I gained more trust and hope that true friendship without motives of getting advantages or to avoid being lonely exists. They made me realize the reason why I couldn't pick out whom I consider as a true friend or why I was always waiting.
(which I say is more of a burden, but hey, the truth hurts)
