Overall: absolutely brilliant, enough said. The technology design, the drama, the layered characters, the comedy, the fluidity of movements, the battle scenes... the list goes on. I am very impressed with the work that has been put into this. Truly, sometimes I feel like I'm watching a movie.
Storyline: 5 stars. I have never seen such a children-focused storyline get so twisted and complex. The first episode is so innocent that it almost seems like a trick. By episode 4 (most impressive episode for me), you'll be on the edge of your seat.
Music: Dece. There is a beautiful BGM the last episode, and the BGM for "sad/serious events" is quite breathtaking too. OP and ED are okay - nothing special, but fair enough.
Characters: Great developments for all characters, even minor ones. The contrast in personalities between different characters are apparent. But what's most impressive is how this series manages to layer personalities and true-hidden-personalities for a character... and how a weak character can subtly become stronger (no, there's no corny phrase like "I must become strong to help my friends!") whenever the situation forces him/her to, and vice versa. Even some minor characters have these changes. Character design is not that attractive, but I rarely noticed because I'm so taken by their realism.
Animation: fluid, not awkward, not stiff, high fps (frames per second)... and that's all you need.
