Densha Otoko is a modern day fairytale that anybody can relate to. It's about a lonely and misunderstood (but kind-hearted) anime otaku who falls in love with a rich and beautiful office lady that he meets on a train. He risks getting beat up by confronting a drunken man who is harassing her. Believing that she is way out of lead, but wanting to remain in contact- he seeks advice on an internet forum on how to court the woman. Through their encouraging words Densha gains the courage to go after Hermes aka the woman of his dreams. Through Densha’s eyes Hermes sees herself worthy of being loved. Through Densha's hard work and determination the people on the forum find their own inner strength to make changes in their own lives.

By the end of the drama you’ll be able to understand why somebody took the real Densha Otoko’s story and capitalized on it. Not only is a quirky Cinderella story, it’s a story of an underdog. When Densha gives, he gives 100%. To think that somebody tried so hard in the name of love is inspiring. Even after being turned down and going through many obstacles, he still finds the courage to press on. He got the girl because of his hard work and his sincere attitude.

If you’re having trouble in your love life and want a pick me up, this is the drama I recommend going with.

Storyline:
The story for Densha Otoko(Train Man) was original and fun. It based on a supposedly real life event in which a young otaku(geek, nerd) saves a woman from harassment on a train. The woman is so impressed by the otaku standing up for her that they begin to date. While the exact details of the real desnha otoko story remain unknown, this serves as a fictitious look at the densha otoko story. Densha Otoko is a nontraditional love story and focuses on the struggles and difficulties that an otaku would face trying to date a "normal" woman.

The circumstances under which Tsuyoshi Yamada/Densh Otoko and Saori Aoyama/Hermes meet -he saves her from a creep guy on a train- help the make the story a little more believable than the typical nerd meets girl story. I also found the constant competition Yamada faces with Kazuya Sakurai to add in another layer of interest to the story. At times the story was fairly predictable, but I still found it enjoyable overall.
Music:
The music selection for this show was very good and had a relatively wide range of selection. As an example, the character motif for Jinkama is "The Imperial March" from Star Wars. It intermediate sets up the atmosphere of her being a really intimidating character.
Characters:
The main cast in Densha Otoko is very vivid and interesting. Many of their actions can be exaggerated to comic effect, but they are generally realistic and easy to relate to. I would say that they are all relatively static insofar as character development is concerned.
Acting:
The acting for Densha Otoko is usually pretty good although at times it comes off as a little cheesy and overdone. I sometimes feel as though I coudln't take certain scenes seriously, particularly true of some the emotional scenes of Hermes/Saori Aoyama.
Overall:
Overall Densha Otoko is a good series. The unique story and premise allow for an interesting take on the popular story of nerd meets girl. If you can get past the sometimes subpar acting, then this series is definitely worth at watch.

Overall: It was good and very funny.
Storyline: It's a completely otaku guy who falls in love with a beautiful woman. It was supposed to be based off a true story, but it seemed a bit too unrealistic. It's really funny though and quite original.
Music: Loved the music! Especially the theme song.
Characters: There wasn't great chemistry with the leads, but the characters were pretty cute.
Acting: All the acting was great.
