Disgaea is a game franchise developed by Nippon Ichi Software. This is a canon, short 12 episodes anime that wraps up the storyline in the first title of the series, that is Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for PS2 and it's port, which is Afternoon of Darkness for PSP.

First of all, the storyline. This anime is specifically made to make you laugh with its recurring gags (Sentai), double entendres (Bouncing) that happens throughout the story. There is some fighting scene that happens here and there, but it ends up just as soon as you want to enjoy it. Other than that, this anime scores average on plot, focusing on its humor UNTIL the last 3 episodes, where the decay will happen.

For the music department, it scores a so-so point for me (I'm not quite a fan to lively pop song, so don't take my account literally, as it might appeasing for some and narmish for others) EXCEPT the background music that plays in Ep. 11, where the prinnies underwent.....ah, watch it for yourself, it's heartrending, but they made it too short, just.too.short.

Being a short anime (And solely for laugh, whheee!!) don't expect much of character development in the story (After all, whaddya expect from a demon, a horse weiner?) Though at some point the development seems to materialize, it will soon be interrupted by RANDOM events/people/.......stuffs.....maybe that will make Shakespeare twitch.

The animation is fluid, the character is well drawn (Though I'm not diggin for pettanko) with some CGI animation jacking in at some episode. For lolis, this is the heaven. For those who have fetishes in double entendres, this is your spot.

For those who enjoys light and short laugh/comedy anime will enjoy this anime. If you enjoy serious plot/character development, this will not be your cup of tea. But either way at the end, you will stop to ponder a while that if a demon can commit such heroic sacrifice, why some of us humans are driven to commit grave violence without any sense of remorse?
